<div>Alice has been doing this for over 5 years  self financed and currently has 19 disabled pigeons which will have otherwise been euthanised , they are pain free , have a great quality of life , Alice says :

<div>"There was one moment that really changed things for me. I took in a pigeon that had been hit by a car. Looking back now, it was actually something that could have been fixed fairly easily, but when I called later that day to check how he was doing, I was told he had been euthanised. From that point on I decided that if an animal had a chance, I would do everything I could to give it that chance.
</div>
<div>Over time I naturally found myself focusing purely on pigeons. They’re often the birds that nobody seems to care much about and they don’t always receive the same treatment in wildlife hospitals and rescues as other animals do. My love for them has just grown and grown.
</div>

<div>Since then I’ve taken on some really serious and complicated injuries and managed to get many pigeons through recovery and back into the wild. If a pigeon needs surgery or treatment, I will do everything I can to make it happen and give them that opportunity. I’ve been really lucky to find an amazing vet that will carry out surgery on pigeons as long as we both agree that they will have a good quality of life after.

<div>For those that can’t be released due to injuries like amputations or permanent disabilities, they stay with me in my aviary where they can live safely and comfortably. They have plenty of space, all the seed they could wish for and lots of care and attention"

<div>Many of us refuse to simply wait for criminals to stop committing crimes. A product that makes effective self-defense more accessible to women is long overdue.

<div>This August, I’ll be joining Women’s Empowerment Coalition (WECO) on a volunteer trip to Kenya to work on a project that supports Maasai women and girls. WECO is addressing the generational impacts of female genital mutilation (FGM) and child marriage—harmful practices that, despite being outlawed, still affect young Maasai girls today. In many rural communities, girls are still exchanged for livestock and married off as children, often becoming widows by their teenage years, left with no education, income, or support.

<div>To break this cycle, WECO is raising $25,000 for two key projects in 2025:
</div>
<div>-A Community Farm that will provide nutritious food to the local school and widows’ village—and generate income for families through market sales.A Mentorship Program for junior secondary girls to keep them on the path to academic success through workshops, peer support, and community role models.
</div>
<div>-Our volunteer group will be staying in a traditional Maasai camp and working side-by-side with the community—helping prepare land for farming, assisting with school improvements, and contributing labor to move these projects forward.
</div>
