<div>On August 2, 2026, Sara was spending a joyful Sunday with her mom, her young son Owen, a friend, and her church family in Chandler, AZ. The church family was playing indoor soccer, but despite her caution and attempt to stay back from the action, a soccer ball struck her knee directly, resulting in a fully torn ACL and a tibial plateau fracture. Accidents happen, and while we believe God will provide, Sara is facing a challenging situation right now.

<div>Unfortunately, Sara does not have insurance to cover the costs of this accident. The medical bills for her ambulance ride, emergency room visit, hospital admission, and the possible therapies and surgeries she will need are overwhelming. Sara, Jacob (her husband and my brother), and their beautiful son Owen are an amazing family who always give so much to others. In this time of crisis, I want to show and share the love of Jesus with them, so their focus can be on healing and recovery instead of financial stress.

Support Sara's Healing After Church Soccer Accident

<div>As an emergency department staff member one of our greatest fears is that our family would be brought in as a trauma or medical emergency. While at work on Tuesday 4/9/24 one of our coworkers/friend experienced such a tragedy. Amanda’s mother was brought in as a trauma from a motor vehicle accident while her one year-old daughter who was also in the vehicle was taken to Doctors Medical Center, our other local trauma hospital. Both of them tragically lost their lives.

<div>Losing your mother/best friend unexpectedly is unimaginable but the loss of a child a pain I can’t fathom. Our hearts are incredibly heavy for our friend and coworker. Please help us support her and her family while they navigate this horrible tragedy and grieve the loss of Amanda’s wonderful mother Patricia and their precious baby Clara.

Hi my name is Chelcie Lannom and I am 30 years old who was diagnosed with advanced liver cirrhosis September 17th, 2020 while hospitalized for almost a month in the ICU. I came home completely wheelchair bound until I was able to convert to a walker, it took me about 5-6 months to fully walk on my own and gain movement back in my hands and legs. Since 2020, I have had minor complications such as (ascites, where they removed over 13lb of fluid in my belly due to liver complications) Fast forward to May 2023 and that’s when I fell really ill again, not being able to stay awake, belly was looking 9 months pregnant so I already knew I had developed ascites again. Legs and feet get completely swollen so it’s hard to walk, can barely walk around for 2 minutes without being completely out of breath, can’t find ANY comfortable sitting or sleeping position because my belly was super distended and in so much pain, can’t eat anything but two bites without feeling like my belly is going to explode, and the list goes on. June 5th, 2023 my sister noticed my eyes getting slightly yellow and we started taking pics for 3 days of them to see if it got worse, everyday was increasingly worse by the color taking up my whites of my eyes….. I knew this meant jaundice and I was in a medical emergency crisis. She took me to our local ER on June 7, 2023 and they immediately admitted me. All of my bloodwork was out of whack. Little did I know. My sodium was dangerously low, my white blood count was very high and they believed my body to be septic and started treating it as such. Today, June 19th, 2023 as I write this I am still admitted here at Edwards Heart Hospital iin Naperville, Il. and I am seeing two gastroenterologists, nurses, techs, and a hospitalist/physician. The news this morning was that they do not know when I will be able to go home as my levels keeps dropping and changing by the day and night and they do not feel comfortable sending me home in the condition I am in anytime soon. My gastroenterologist told me this morning that the day that I do get to end up going home, he will be helping me get referred to the liver transplant team to be on the waiting list for a new liver, I asked him if it was a part of my liver that could be replaced or the whole thing and I was told it will be my entire liver. Of course this would be in the worst case scenario, but I am not promised tomorrow and not promised what my health will look like anytime soon. I am around the clock working with the nurses and specialists doing blood panels, numerous different IV’s, CT scans with contrast, xrays, and I did have a paracentesis done again on June 17th, 2023 which they believe I will most likely need one again in a few days to remove more fluid out of my belly since my liver cannot anymore. I am on a fluid restriction alongside a low sodium diet. I am taking over 15 different tablet medications not including the IV bags for antibiodics, sodium, steroid, albumin, and lasix. I know I’m missing some too but there is just sooo much going on it is very overwhelming right now. Unfortunately, I have to be away from Mya and she is under the care of my sister and her husband. My sister does have other children to take care of and I want to take some of that pressure off also because I have no idea when I am coming back home. Any donations will be going to our household expenses (we just moved May 12th, 2023) and my rent and bills need help as much as possible so we can keep our home. Donations will also go towards travel, food, necessities, and medications that my insurance does not absolutely cover due to me having probably the WORST state insurance they offer which are the most important medications that I need daily to survive. I am of course unable to work right now unfortunately and any donation would really take the weight off of my shoulder while I focus on my health and hopefully be able to come home soon!
