My name is Nathan, and I am asking for help to keep driving Uber. I drive Uber to help make a living while also doing ministry. I have been the head minister of Yeshua Network and Truth Me Free ministries for over 13 years. I try my best to serve and to support myself as much as I can in the process. Uber has been a huge blessing for me because as a minister I need to be available at random times, have a flexible schedule, and still make enough to pay the bills. Uber has made it possible for me to balance all of that, but it also means I need transportation that is reliable and safe.

 My car is now 10 years old and starting to have serious problems, and the cost of keeping it running has become more than I can keep up with. What I hoped would be dependable transportation has mostly become a constant source of stress and uncertainty. I was without my car for 5 months, and that season almost bankrupted me and nearly got me evicted from my home. I have been approved for a loan to purchase a newer, safer used car, and I am incredibly grateful for that opportunity. Right now, the biggest obstacle is coming up with the down payment of $7000 the bank requires. Why so much, I'm upside down on the loan I have for my current car. I owe more than what the car is worth. Only 2 banks have said they would approve me for a loan, and the better interest rate one is also asking for the smaller down payment, which is the $7000 I mentioned above.

<div>Richard is a former local business owner in Atlanta and a beloved Uber driver who continued driving in retirement because he genuinely loved people. He enjoyed the conversations, the connections, and the sense of purpose it gave him. He is known for being calm, wise, and non-judgmental — the kind of person who makes others feel at ease.

<div>Last month, Richard’s health suddenly and severely declined. He survived a critical hospitalization at Grady Hospital, including time on life support. Since then, he has been discharged but is now on permanent hemodialysis due to kidney failure and is unable to work.

<div>At the same time, he has lost all income and stability.

<div>The situation has now become urgent. The home he is currently staying in will be vacated by the owner in less than 48 hours, leaving him with nowhere to go. He is physically weak, recovering from a life-threatening illness, and still requires regular dialysis and ongoing medical care.

<div>The immediate goal is to secure a clean, safe, short-term place for Richard to stay near his dialysis clinic so he can continue treatment and recover without interruption while longer-term housing options are arranged.

Emergency Housing for Richard, Atlanta Uber Driver

Hi, my name is Michelle, and I’m a single mom doing everything I can to provide for my child. Until recently, I worked as a certified medical assistant — a job I truly loved because I could care for others and make a difference. Unfortunately, after losing my position, I’ve been struggling to get back on my feet.

Help an Uber Driver Get Back on the Road

I came across a video on TikTok that really moved me. It showed a hardworking lady in California who drives for Uber to make a living. She went inside a restaurant to pick up an order—she was gone for no more than three minutes. When she came back outside, her car had been towed. You could see the heartbreak and frustration on her face as she realized what had happened. She didn’t know what to do next and was brought to tears by the situation. It’s just not fair, especially when life is already so challenging for so many people trying to get by.

 I want to help her get her car back so she can keep working and supporting herself. The money raised here will go toward paying the towing fees, helping with gas, and giving her a little extra to cover any other expenses she might have as she gets back on her feet. Every bit of support will make a real difference in her life and help her move forward after this setback.

Help Uber Driver Get Her Car Back

<div>I want to turn an awful situation into something amazing for a struggling mother we first met last night. Yesterday, an Uber Eats driver, Maricia, came to deliver food, and as she walked up our long, sloped driveway, her young autistic son—who looked to be about three to five years old—climbed into the driver’s seat of her car. In a split second, he managed to put the car in gear, and (with him inside) it rolled quickly down the long driveway, breaking through a large stone mailbox before eventually coming to a stop on the neighbor’s lawn. The car was badly damaged (the entire rear windshield shattered, part of the rear fell off, etc). While they were all shaken, thankfully no one was hurt.

<div> While waiting for help to arrive, I learned more about the driver’s situation. She explained that she brings her son with her on deliveries because she has no other option—she’s a single mother, and her financial situation is so tight that she can’t afford childcare. I am sure her son’s autism adds another layer of challenge, and now, with her car severely damaged, I'm concerned she’s lost her main source of income. Our hearts broke when we heard the story and thought about the difficulties this overwhelming setback will cause her and her child.

Support Needed for Uber Eats Driver's Car Repair

<div>As you may have heard, Kiran Wagle is having a hard time right now. He lives in his car and makes his living driving for Doordash, Instacart, etc. He's been in and out of the hospital the last few months and hasn't been able to earn much money. Now his car has broken down - it has a very bad coolant leak due to a head gasket issue. He can't live in it until it is repaired. As it turns out he also has pneumonia and is in the hospital AGAIN for about 5 days for intravenous antibiotics.

<div>With help from Hobbit and Peter Olszowka, we got Kiran's car to Rick's mechanic. While Kiran's car is in very good shape for a 2013 Prius, the best solution according to the mechanic (and others) is a replacement used engine. (Trying to replace just the head gasket would involve taking the engine apart and machining the engine and hoping it still doesn't leak. That would also be significantly more labor and would take more days.) Rick's mechanic has a line on a relatively low mileage engine with a warranty. It is going to cost about $6000 to buy the engine and install it and fix some other minor things on the car (broken window). Rick fully trusts his mechanic who has also done work for other people in fandom. If we do this, Kiran's car should be good for many more miles.

<div>In addition, Kiran's monthly expenses are about $600 per month. We would like to fundraise three months worth of cushion to give to Kiran if he needs it because he needs to go into the hospital again and can't work or something similar. Peter Olszowka will hold the cushion if we get it. If Kiran doesn't need the cushion now, he's going to need it eventually.

<div>In late November of last year, we unexpectedly and immediately lost our 3 (almost 4)-year-old daughter to acute leukemia. One week after her funeral, I was diagnosed with a rare heart and lung disease called severe idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension. This causes progressive heart failure, a deteriorating condition for which there is no cure. My condition is so severe and fragile that I was given hope of reaching another 5 years. At the time of diagnosis, I was 20 weeks pregnant with a beautiful, healthy baby girl. Due to the severity of my condition, I was forced to terminate my pregnancy to save my life and prevent the suffering of my child. At such a late stage of this untreated condition, I wouldn’t have made it much longer. When it was discovered, the pressures in my lungs were five times what they should have been, and as a result, the right side of my heart is now twice the size it should be.

<div>I now have to live with a machine attached to my hip that continuously pumps medication through a tube that goes up my shirt, into my chest, and directly into my heart. This medicine is not a cure but a treatment. The treatment is brutal, and sometimes I’m in bed for days. I have to mix my medication and switch out the pump every other day, a process that takes about 45 minutes, along with other routines. I also have to change the dressing for my tube 1-2 times a week, which takes about 25 minutes. Additionally, I must monitor my symptoms, continuously check in with my doctors, and take pills three times a day.
