We went for another follow up today, rods and screws look good and his back is healing up well. Randy still has the numbness and tingling in his left hip and thigh, he is not able to lift his left leg while lying down or sitting. We're not sure he'll ever be able to go back to being a mechanic or what job he may be able to do at this point. He is looking at being out of work more than likely at least till January.
Hi everyone, quick update. Randy is up and somewhat moving. He is able to walk with a walker still, he is in physical therapy as well. However, he still doesn't have feeling back in his left leg. The surgeon is still confused as to why. He is saying right now just from the surgery hes looking at 3 more months of recovery for his back. He still isn't sure about the mobility in his leg and if he will get the feeling and function back.
Just a quick update, Randy had his back surgery August 17th. The doctor went in and took out some part of his L1 and L2. He wanted to take his disk out from in between but wasn't able to due to the disk being completely calcified. He shaved it down as best he could without causing more issues or possibly hitting his spinal cord. He couldn't see where Randy's cord stopped due to the severe spinal stenosis. There is a high possibility of more surgeries in the future. We don't have an idea of how long he will be out of work yet. He has been down since June 17th. The doctor is still concerned about his left leg mobility. He still is numb from the hip to the knee and has lost all muscle mass in that leg. We thank each and every one of you for the donations and the prayers and thoughts. We ask for continued prayers and support.
