In 2025, our family’s vehicle was constantly breaking down, and we found ourselves stuck in a cycle of repairs that drained our resources and energy. After months of frustration, we decided to use our income tax refund in March 2026 to purchase a used car for $5,429, paying outright to avoid taking on additional debt. We believed this was the most responsible financial decision for our family, and it gave us hope for a more stable future. Unfortunately, just one month later, in April 2026, we were involved in a motor vehicle accident, and the car was declared a total loss. Because we did not have collision coverage, there was no insurance payment to replace the vehicle. In a matter of weeks, we lost the transportation we depended on as well as the savings we had worked so hard to build. My husband has been employed full time with Sam’s Club for more than three years and is a dedicated, dependable employee. Reliable transportation is essential for him to continue working and supporting our household. We are doing everything we can to remain self-sufficient, but replacing the vehicle after losing our savings has created a financial hardship that we cannot overcome on our own. Asking for help is not something that comes easily to me, but I’m reaching out with hope. Earlier this year, we unexpectedly lost our vehicle, and replacing it has been much more difficult than we ever imagined. Having reliable transportation is essential for everyday life, including getting to work, running errands, keeping appointments, and taking care of daily responsibilities. We’re working hard to get back on our feet and are doing everything we can on our own. Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward purchasing a dependable vehicle.
