 My name is Mike and I am fundraising to help cover legal fees in regards to an incident that happened near Carman Manitoba in August of 2026. Henry caught thieves stealing items on his property. The thieves were apprehended by the owner of the property while waiting for the police to arrive. Allegedly there was a gunshot to the radiator of the vehicles. Charges were filed against the landowner. As a community we hope that this will help lessen the burden on the landowner, and show that we are not willing to stand by while thieves continue to get away with vandalism and theft.

<div>Yesterday (July 8), Evan Hansen was involved in a devastating spray plane accident. He is currently fighting for his life in the University of Alberta Hospital. Eighty percent of his body has been burned, and he has many life threatening injuries that he is fighting to overcome.

Dear friends and family, <br />Our friend has been in a devastating plane accident in Calgary, AB near Spring Bank Airport. 
She’s is suffering with life changing injuries, but surrounded with support <font color="#333333">from loved ones. <br />Megan is a daughter to two loving parents, a best friend to many, an aunty, a Godmother and a major cat lover. Megan has a younger sister who looks up to her greatly, and is engaged to the love of her life. She has touched a lot of hearts and will continue too. <br /></font>Megan has made a enormous impact on the aviation community throughout Northern Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. 

After graduating from college she has dedicated her time to teach aspiring pilots as well as share her wealth of knowledge. Megan is devoted and caring to her students and fellow colleagues at every opportunity she is given. <br /> We want to aid her in paying her student loans as well as any future medical and recovery expenses that will be required. With the support of the aviation family we are hopeful that we can raise this money to support Megan and her family in this long recovery. <p>Kerry celebrated her 39th birthday on December 11th feeling a little low and tired.   She went to her daughter Avery’s Kindergarten Winter Concert with her family and dear friend Lindsey and then her situation worsened quickly.  
</p>

<p>Not terribly worried, Kerry thought she was having a particularly bad flu until Sunday when she noticed increased bruising on her legs and was experiencing substantial blood loss.  
</p>

<p>Brandon and Kerry went to Victoria General Hospital and Kerry received immediate attention and underwent numerous tests.  Less than two hours later, Kerry was told it looked like leukaemia.  On Monday she received a number of platelet transfusions and learned that she and Brandon would be flying to Vancouver and receive treatment at the Cancer Clinic.  
</p>

<p>Kerry and Brandon flew via helicopter this afternoon (Tuesday).  Her confirmed diagnosis is a branch of AML called Acute Promyelocytic Leukaemia.  The ‘plan’ so far is for  Kerry to stay in hospital for a month to begin with and then continued treatment in Vancouver until September.  
</p>

<p>Avery-5 y, Edie-3 y, and Gus-1 y are currently based with Kerry’s sister Laura and her family.   Surrounded by grandparents, aunts and uncles and friends, they will be cared for by their village over the coming months while trying to keep routines and ‘normal’ happening as much as possible.  <br /><br />Christmas comes with extra challenges this year, but will act as a reminder of how important it is to come together and love one another.  Avery, Edie and Gus are doing well and miss their parents.  They receive some comfort knowing that their mom is in the best place receiving the very best care.   Provided Kerry is able, the kids will be with Brandon and Kerry for Christmas in some configuration.

<p>We are asking for financial support to cover transportation costs, living expenses to allow Brandon to take some time off of work to support Kerry, and relieve the overall financial burden that a family battling cancer faces.

Kerry Sjolie and Her Family—Leukaemia

<br /><br />It's easy to recite a viral quote about living your life to the fullest, or each day as if it's your last. In November 2018 our sister Erin discovered a lump which was thought/assumed/hoped to be just a cyst. A mammogram and biopsy however, found Erin’s battle with cancer would begin with a Stage 2 diagnosis just centimeters beneath the cyst. In early February 2019 a lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy found the cancer had spread into 1 of 3 of the adjacent lymph nodes which were removed with clear margins. A treatment plan was initiated with a battery of tests and scans (MUGA, Bone, CT, MRI, PET). These tests and a next day phone call carried the devastating news of a Stage 4 diagnosis. A vague idea of what your life means, to live fully, gains a whole new purpose. A review panel examined Erin’s case and drug therapy has started which has an average effectiveness of 2 years before requiring alteration.<br /><br />Erin and her husband Chad have handled the diagnosis with inspirational courage, self-advocacy and hope. They are being brave for their children and for us. They speak openly to friends and family about their struggles and realities. They challenge doctors with knowledge and preparedness and they fight in every capacity possible using naturopathic diet and lifestyle changes in addition to conventional treatments. They have chosen to face overwhelming odds by not letting cancer define them, or rob them of what they have left. They have chosen to use this time to chase the happy moments each day they can. <br /><br />We would love to help them in this fight and through these difficult times, with whatever they need. Perhaps a memorable family trip or required medical equipment or treatments not covered by health insurance. We all thank you for your consideration and continued support.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />An Update written by Chad:<br /><br />Six weeks ago, we were shattered by the news of Erin's cancer spreading. Since that day, we have tried our best to remain positive and fight this through educating ourselves about this horrible disease, making changes to diet, adopting more exercise, making changes in our environment and living each day to the fullest we can. It's easier to say all of these things then practice it and we've had some struggles to maintain a positive mindset each day. <br /><br />We need you all to know that the amount of love and support that we've received from so many - this has helped us immensely in our mental health and lifting us up to regain our focus to continue to fight. Unfortunate events to follow led to, what was proven to be, a freak accident, which cost the life of one of the young men. It was a terrible situation and circumstance. <br />Friday February 9th 2018, Gerald was acquitted of the charge he acquired, as well as cleared of any and all wrong-doing surrounding the events of that day. <br />As imaginable, the Stanley family has spent thousands upon thousands of dollars surrounding this ordeal.  <br /><br />All funds raised will be going to the Stanley Family, in an effort to help them recoup some of their lost time, property and vehicles that were damaged, harvest income, and sanity during this entire difficult situation they have been dealing with over the past two years.<br /><br />********************************************<br />First off, the Stanley family wishes to offer a HUGE thank you for the support, donations, likes and shares, and kind words in general. The proceeds will go a long way in helping the Stanleys rebuild their lives after the tragic events of August 9, 2016. <br /><br />Secondly, we (the organizers) wish to offer our sincerest apologies to those donors whose names have been slandered or defamed by individuals who have a personal vendetta against this campaign. We are not condoning or glorifying Gerald’s actions that day. The events of August 9th impacted the Stanleys’ lives forever. As a result of other people’s actions and negative decisions, the family has suffered tremendous personal and financial losses, as well as intangible losses such as sleepless nights, stress, fear, and general upset. While certain things can never be replaced, the funds will hopefully ease some of the burdens suffered between August 9, 2016, and the present day. <br /><br />Mr. Stanley was found NOT GUILTY by a jury of 12 peers in the Court of Queen’s Bench of Canada. We respect this verdict, as well as the judicial process that was utilized in reaching this decision.<br /><br />Finally, it was NOT, nor will it ever be, our intent or the Stanleys’ intent to place any less value, or any type of indignity on the life that was lost. Our deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of the young man who lost his life on August 9, 2016. <br /><br />Thank you all for your support!!

Gerald Stanley Support Fund

On June 5th, 2016 our friend and fellow dirt bike rider Shane Hartje sustained a severe injury to his T7 vertabrae leaving him currently with paralysis below the chest. The future is uncertain, only time will tell, however we know that the next few months are going to be critical for Shane's recovery. Shane is unable to work in his current state and the cost to recover can add up quickly over time.
