My mother, Raelyn King, has been bravely battling stage 4 cervical cancer for some time now.  As you can imagine, this journey has been INCREDIBLY challenging, both emotionally and financially, for us all but especially my parents.

<div>My name is Raelyn King and I have lived in the Village of Arcade for over 20 years with my husband, Richard King. We have raised 3 beautiful children together: Courtney Hatch, Taylor King and Jordan King and have 6 grandkids. Many people may know my mother-in-law as she worked at the school for many years, Shirley King and my sister, Amie Muehlnickel who has lived in the Village of Arcade for the last 8 years. They have all been there for me in countless ways, showing their unwavering love and support.

<div>In May 2025, I went to the doctors for a routine appointment and some abnormalities were noted. I went for further testing and was eventually diagnosed with Stage 3 Cervical Cancer, a diagnosis no one wants to receive. After additional testing, it was revealed that I have a 7.3 cm tumor on my cervix and the cancer has spread throughout my uterus and lymph nodes.

<div>In efforts to combat this cancer and with surgery not being an option, I have completed external and internal radiation and chemotherapy. On Dec 6th I went in for a pet scan and unfortunately, the results were not what we were hoping for. The cancer has spread to my pelvic area, chest walls and trachea. I started a very invasive chemo regimen which requires me to travel to Roswell in Buffalo every 3 weeks. During treatment, I developed kidney issues which led to me having a stent put in to allow my kidneys to function correctly.

<div>I am scheduled for a repeat pet scan on March 3rd. I am scheduled to begin another 3 rounds of chemotherapy on March 10th. Once completed, I will have another pet scan to see if there’s been any changes.

<div>My family, friends and co-workers have been a huge support throughout this rollercoaster of a journey. For them, I am forever grateful. Every day looks different for me, depending how I am feeling. While going through my treatments, I am trying to work to help keep some normalcy in my life. I want to extend my most sincere gratitude to everyone who has sent words of encouragement, gifts and prayers. It means the world to me and has helped me cope on a daily basis with the mountain that is ahead of me. This battle has tested my physical, mental, and emotional strength in ways I never thought possible.

<div>I’m sure some of you have noticed our beloved Sue hasn’t been at work for the last month. She found out that she has pancreatic cancer that they are aggressively trying to treat. In the meantime, the bills are still coming and as a Mango family, we want to be able to help her in any way possible to get her and her son Max through this tough time.

<div>As we all know, Samantha’s world revolves around her 2 beautiful girls and taking care of anyone in need.

<div>While recent times have provided Sam with a fair share of obstacles  to overcome. She now faces the challenge of a lifetime.

<div>Sam has recently been diagnosed with a treatable form of colon cancer. The immediate future entails surgery with the ensuing recovery post operative chemo and other treatments that will make it impossible to work.

Samantha’s Road to Recovery

Gino is one of our loved team members at Salon Allure.  Two years ago Gino was diagnosed with liver cancer. Now if you know him, he never made a big deal or drew any attention from anyone. He was simply happy with going to work every day and staying as positive as he could. He has went through several treatments which gave him hope and has had some positive results.<br />Last week, he took a different turn. Gino has not been feeling well and now has several new medical issues arise due to the cancer. He has been out of work for a week now and just found out he will be receiving the chemo pill at home. With that said, he will have side effects and will be unable to work. For all you fellow hair stylists, you know our career does not offer many benefits in this situation.  Gino's amazing wife Charlene is also a hairstylist and will be unable to take much time off of work. They will have many medical bills and all the normal bills to live. <br />No one should have to be in this situation. Ginos wife Charlene is a devoted and amazing wife and will be there every step of the way. Unfortunately they were never able to have children so it is just the two of them.<br />If there is any way you can donate to help Gino and Charlene to take some stress off not working, you would be helping them in so many ways, while he takes the time at home to heal. Gino is a friend, husband, and has never asked for anything from anyone.  He is a devoted true friend and does not deserve this. We as a Salon team would love to give back to him and do all we can do to help. If you come into Salon Allure he is always there to greet you and make sure you had the best experience despite what he has been going through, Any amount will help, and sharing this will as well. Gino and Charlene ,we are all here for you and we know with your positive attitudes and prayers you and Charlene will get though this. You have all our support always.

The Tragic fire in Town of Tonawanda, resulted in the death of beloved 8 year old Seth Creenan. Grandmother Darcy Zelda, son of Katherine, and Brian Creenan. Brother to Kristina, and Andrew. <br />Seth attended Glendale Elementary, where he was an A student. He was the most incredible little boy, and loved by everyone who knew him. He brought light with him everywhere he went. We are devastated by his loss.<br />The loss of their son, and everything they own, has prompted me to start the Gofundme to support them during this time of crisis, and sorrow. They lost everything, please help.

Tonawanda Fire Family Tragedy

<br /><strong>Swiped Right is now screening!!!!<br /><br />Swiped Right is off to a fantastic start on the festival circut.<br /><br /></strong>We have started the <strong>festival circut</strong>  and it is being  screened privately at the AGR Best Of on 6/8/17.  Also, because of the <strong>strong audience reaction</strong> it is going to be made into a<strong> full length feature</strong> .<br /><br /> On May 20th, <strong>Swiped Right</strong> had it's <strong>world premiere</strong>  at the <strong>Hoboken International Film Festival</strong> .
