My name is Michael, and for the past 25 years, I have been battling ongoing health issues that have made daily life a challenge. Since I was 10 years old, I’ve mostly been my own support system, doing my best to stay strong for myself and my family. Now, I’m facing the need for a double hip replacement and am about to undergo a small bowel resectioning surgery. My mobility is limited, and every step risks further damage to my hips and spine. Unfortunately, my health insurance does not cover the mobility scooter I desperately need to get around safely. Having a mobility scooter would be life-changing for me. It would allow me to do simple things like go to the store, attend my kids’ school events, and participate in family life without putting more strain on my body. Most importantly, it would help me maintain my independence and prevent further injury, so I don’t have to rely so heavily on my wife or miss out on important moments with my children. Asking for help is not easy for me, but I know I can’t do this alone. I want to be there for my kids and ease the burden on my wife, who has already taken on so much.
