Today Cody was slowly being taken off life support. He is awaiting a lumbar puncture to happen in the next few days to check his spinal fluid. This will be able to tell the doctors if the Leukemia has reached Codys brain. We are all sending love, hope and prayers to his family!

Help Support Cody Denny and His Family Im Jillian and a close dear friend to Wanita, Codys mum and Pam, Codys Grandmother. On Tuesday, 21-year-old Cody Denny, the eldest son of Wanita Flakemore, went to urgent care after becoming extremely unwell. He was suffering from a severe sore neck, vomiting, bringing up blood and was unable to keep anything down. After medication at urgent care failed to help, blood tests were taken. The results were extremely concerning, and Cody was transferred to hospital by ambulance. This is where everything changed for Cody and his family. The hospital tests revealed that Cody has leukaemia. Further investigations have shown that his illness is affecting multiple areas of his body, including around his heart, liver and kidneys. A scan also revealed that Cody's spleen was bleeding, requiring emergency surgery. He has since been heavily sedated and admitted to ICU, where he is receiving urgent medical care. For Wanita and her family, this has all happened incredibly suddenly. In the space of days, their lives have been completely turned upside down. Supporting Wanita and Her Family Wanita has had to stop working so she can be by Cody's side and support him through this frightening and uncertain time. Working is how Wanita provides for her family from week to week, so having to suddenly stop working has placed an enormous financial strain on the family — on top of everything else they are facing. Right now, Wanita shouldn't have to worry about how the bills will be paid, how she will afford to get to the hospital, or how the family will manage financially. Her focus needs to be on her son. That's why we are asking our friends, family, community and anyone who feels able to help to come together for Cody and his family. Funds raised will help Wanita and her family with everyday living expenses, bills, travel to and from hospital, food and other unexpected costs while Cody undergoes treatment and the family navigates the road ahead.
