 Last week, our family’s beloved cat went missing. As you can imagine, we were heartbroken and worried sick. Our pets are not “just pets” — they are family, and this cat has become an especially important emotional support pet in our home. Then, this week, we received an unexpected blessing. A man named <strong>David Garcia</strong>, who helped save our cat, found her on I-10 near the Fountains area. Our family lives on the west side of El Paso, so we still have no idea how she managed to get all the way there. What we do know is that she was in a dangerous situation, and Mr. Garcia stopped to help her when he absolutely did not have to. He went out of his way to rescue her and make sure she was safe.
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 During their conversation, Mr. Garcia shared that he has rescued cats of his own. He is retired, helps care for his grandchild, and often does DoorDash. He could have easily driven past and continued with his day, but instead, he chose compassion. Our family wants to recognize Mr. Garcia for being a true Good Samaritan. His simple act of kindness meant the world to our family, and they hope to turn this into an opportunity to pay that kindness forward. This fundraiser is a thank-you for David’s time, effort, and compassion, and a way to support someone who so often helps others.
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
 If David’s kindness touches your heart, please consider donating, sharing this fundraiser, and helping Gloria’s community celebrate his good deed. Any support, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated. Gloria also hopes the El Paso community will join in recognizing Mr. Garcia for the difference he made. Sometimes it takes just one person to stop, care, and change everything — and for Gloria’s family, that person was David Garcia. Thank you for helping show him the gratitude he truly deserves.
</div>

Thank You David Garcia

<div>Hello everyone,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Alejandro, Armando, and Adrianna Ortega would like to ask our community, family, and friends for support and help for our family. This is our dad, Richard Ortega. He is a loving, caring, and friendly man known throughout our communities.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He has been battling pain after having a tumor removed, along with a bone infection that set into his foot and has continued to get worse. From 2017–2024, he has gone through numerous surgeries with little improvement, and he has also had to leave his job because of his condition.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>About a month ago, we received the heartbreaking news that his leg below the knee will need to be amputated. On June 2nd, he will be going into surgery for what we hope will be the last time. While it is not the outcome he wanted, we are praying this surgery will finally bring him relief and a better quality of life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are asking for your support during this difficult time as our family faces traveling expenses, medical costs, and the challenges that come with recovery. Any donation, prayer, or share would mean so much to our family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please continue to keep our dad and our family in your thoughts and prayers.
</div>

<div>Every single day in El Paso, countless innocent dogs are abandoned, neglected, and left to die. They are chained, starved, tossed aside like trash—suffering in silence because no one steps in. But Elena does. This rescue exists because of one woman who refuses to look away. Without her, many of these dogs would have no chance at all. But here’s the truth—without your help, there is no rescue. Rescue only exists when people care enough to step up.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Elena, the founder of the rescue, has walked into situations most people couldn’t even stomach. She has been to properties filled with dogs stacked on top of one another, living in filth, scared and forgotten. She has pulled dogs out of hoarding cases so bad that she’s found the skulls and bones of the ones who didn’t make it—lives that were lost simply because no one else cared enough to try. These are the moments that fuel her mission. This is why she fights so hard, even when it feels like she is fighting alone.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Rescue is not glamorous. It is long nights nursing sick puppies, trying to keep their tiny bodies alive while exhaustion eats away at her own. It is constant vet visits, draining both emotionally and financially. It is working with aggressive dogs who only know how to bite because fear is all they’ve ever been taught. It is kneeling down to touch a dog who has never felt a kind hand and whispering, “you’re safe now,” even when they don’t yet believe it. These are the realities that Animal Services often turns a blind eye to. But she refuses to.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Transportation is her lifeline. Every month, Elena loads up dogs who would otherwise never make it out and drives them to new lives, new families, new beginnings. Without a reliable vehicle, that lifeline breaks. These dogs cannot wait. They cannot save themselves. If she doesn’t step in—if YOU don’t step in—then they die where they stand. It’s that simple.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This fundraiser is not about luxury. It’s not about making things “easier.” It’s about survival. A new vehicle means more transports, more second chances, more lives saved. Each dollar you give directly fuels hope—for the broken, the abandoned, the overlooked. Even if you don’t consider yourself a “dog person,” this is about more than dogs. It’s about compassion. It’s about proving that when the world looks away, someone still cares enough to act.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please, don’t turn away. Don’t let another set of bones be the reminder of what happens when no one steps up. With your help, Elena can continue to give them the life they were always meant to have. Without you, there is no rescue
</div>

No Van, No Rescue: Be Their Only Hope Today

<div>My name is Hank Wyatt and I’m reaching out on behalf of my brother and sister in law while they're in the hospital with serious injuries due to the Ruidoso, NM, flash flood.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On July 8th, what was supposed to be a carefree family vacation in Ruidoso, New Mexico, turned into a nightmare no one could have imagined.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Their babies, *little* Sebastian Rowan (7) and Charlotte Emery Trotter (4), lost their lives and were sent to be with the lord. Their dogs, Zeus (9) and Ellie (5) were also sadly unable to survive their injuries. Their German Shepherd Lily (8) thankfully survived alongside the parents, Stephanie and Sebastian.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>They were camping alongside a small stream of water at an RV park in Ruidoso, NM. They had a fantastic day exploring the town, shopping, getting pizza for lunch, playing soccer, and then came back to start packing up the RV to leave.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>They received no warning or alerts on their phone when suddenly water began to flood the campsite at a rapid pace. The RV began to fill up with water before they could even step out of the door. Their efforts to escape the RV and seek refuge failed. As the water got more and more violent, the RV was nearly half way filled with water when the wall of the RV cracked in half and the mother and kids were sucked into the water. Sebastian (parent) dove into the water after the kids.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Stephanie was holding onto her babies fighting the water, trying to get them to safety. Her Husband, Sebastian, was able to guide their son up a tree while Stephanie and their daughter Charlotte continued down the river until trees and debris hit and separated them. It was impossible for them to fight against the speed and depth of the water at this point.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Stephanie was drowning and found the strength to force herself back above the water and thankfully got stuck on a part of a wall in order to be rescued by some people nearby.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Its a miracle that Stephanie and Sebastian (parents) even survived those waters.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The entire town tried to help as much as possible and we thank them for their support. Everyone helped trying to rescue them as well as their dogs.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As if losing their children and two of their dogs weren’t enough, the flood destroyed their RV, their truck, and nearly every precious keepsake they brought with them... photo albums, laptops and phones filled with memories, and the simple comforts of home. Stephanie and Sebastian both sustained serious injuries; Sebastian faces major surgeries and months of recovery, and she will not be able to work fully for quite some time. Stephanie is a nursing student and Sebastian is a active US Army soldier.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are raising these funds not only to cover their bills, mortgage, and rehabilitation, but to give our little Sebastian and Charlotte the beautiful farewell they deserve... their funerals, the memorials, the moments of love and remembrance that no amount of sorrow should ever steal from a family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>These funds will mostly be used to give the kids the memorials that they deserve and ensure that the parents have one less thing they need to worry about.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Sebastian and Stephanie were devoted parents to two of the brightest, most joyful souls you could ever meet. Little Sebastian loved nothing more than chasing a soccer ball across a field, dreaming of playing professionally one day. Charlotte was our little performer. Always singing, always twirling, and lighting up every room she entered. They were kind, curious, and loved harder than anyone I’ve ever known.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is the worst day of our family’s lives. If you can give even a dollar, it will help shoulder some of the burden the parents have and they can focus on healing. If you can share this page, you can help bring hope to Stephanie and Sebastian in their darkest hour. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with us. Any kindness you can offer will mean the world.

Help Support the Ruidoso Flood Survivors Trotter Family

<div>It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved brother, Ruben Hernandez, who left us far too soon at the age of 30. After a brave fight in the hospital, he sadly passed away on Saturday, June 28th, 2025. Ruben was deeply loved by his 3 children and his entire family. On behalf of the Hernandez family, we humbly ask for support to help cover the unexpected funeral expenses.

Assist the Hernandez Family in Their Loss

<div>As residents of Sunland Park, we find ourselves in a distressing situation as our beloved dog, Oyuki, fell victim to a shooting incident last night. We are urgently seeking support to cover the veterinary expenses, which have escalated due to the necessity of an overnight stay. Oyuki holds a special place in our family, she serves as a cherished companion to my 2-year-old son, which they have an inseparable bond. As we navigate this challenging ordeal, we remain faithful in our efforts to save Oyuki's life, relying on both medical intervention and prayers. Any form of assistance during this time would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Seven years ago, Ashlie Myers was diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer at 34. Now, at 41, it's back, unwelcome. She has been diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer in the bones. She is fighting as hard as she can while still not having undergone any official treatment. Her three children are very hopeful for the success of hormone therapy and hip surgery.<br /><br />41 is too young to go. Any help is appreciated. Thank you, my lovelies ☀️<br /><br />UPDATE: May 18<br />Today is an appointment with the only orthopedic (?) surgeon in the state of New Mexico. <div>On Monday morning, March 27th, David Pizarro (43) was heading to drop off his daughter, Penny (10), at school on his way to work. While on the familiar stretch of road, David and Penny, were t-boned by a stolen SUV after the driver ran through a stop sign.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Both father and daughter were transported to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with life-threatening injuries. David is being treated for brain bleeding, and although conscious, is still suffering from the effects of a traumatic brain injury. He is confused and unable to process what has happened.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Penny, however, is still in the ICU fighting for her life. Penny has undergone a craniectomy to reduce the pressure caused by her brain injury. She also sustained a fractured femur and pelvis along with damage to her liver and chest. Due to a collapsed lung, Penny has been intubated and is still unable to breathe on her own.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>David is a Navy Veteran and single father who is the sole provider for both his daughter and elderly mother. Penny is a 4th grader and a dedicated member of her Girl Scout Troop. The road ahead for this family is long and their family’s future is still uncertain. There has been an incredible outpouring of friends and family in the community who know and love David &amp; Penny.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The family is offering those who wish to support the Pizarro Family during this unimaginable time the opportunity to donate. David will unlikely be able to work in the coming months so donations for living expenses and medical bills would be received with much gratitude.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Let’s rally around this family with love, support, and prayers. Thank you!
