2020 was the worst year for most people. So much loss, of loved ones and livelihood and it was nothing that should’ve ever happened. I am sending this out for my aunt, uncle and cousins. On august 5th of 2020, my aunt Linda and uncle Bobby lost their youngest son, Izzy. My cousin’s (Shayna, Joel and Nico) lost their youngest brother…he was only 24. To try to explain the heartbreak and agony they were and are going through is nothing I want to ever experience. I can only imagine. It’s crushing. Gut wrenching. How could you go on…?  Not even 7 months later (March 31, 2021), my aunt Linda was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. How could this be possible? How could one family lose a son/brother and (quite possibly) a wife/mother in less than a year? My uncle and cousin’s have been doing everything in their power to care for my aunt. Still dealing, not healing, with the fresh pain from Izzy’s loss, they’re now trying to care for my aunt who is riddled with painful (visible) tumors from head to toe. Round the clock caring for her while trying their hardest to make ends meet. Dr’s appointments are having to be delayed due to insurance bureaucracy…while time is of the essence. These are the best people that would do anything for anyone at the drop of a hat and THIS is what they get? “Undeserving” is an understatement. She finally went through radiation and began chemotherapy. Hopes were a tiny bit higher. However, she stopped eating and drinking. On Thursday, June 10th, she was admitted to the hospital where they immediately hooked her up to an IV. As hospital protocol goes, they tested her for COVID, and sure enough she tested positive. They also tested my uncle and my cousin and they have it as well. Now my aunt is in the hospital alone (no family by her side), in agonizing pain and unable to take any pain relievers due to low blood pressure and the rest of her immediate family is at home (with COVID) unable to do anything at this point.  To make a long point a little less long…at this point, they are now struggling financially, trying to pay medical bills and make ends meet, all while mentally, emotionally and physically trying to cope with the devastation of everything that is being thrown their way.  Please donate anything if possible and please SHARE this if nothing else. Hatch family tragedy

Meet Keller Keller is a 6 year old full size, Bull Terrier. He is a sweetheart and needs a long-term foster before being adopted out to his forever home. Melissa LaLande (Theo’s amazing pet sitter) rescued him from his owners 24 hours ago where he had been untouched or cared for, for over 6 years, living caged into a small concrete pad outside. We’ve got him all washed and cleaned up and as you can imagine, the first night was tough. He is scared to death. He cries if he’s not being touched, and hasn’t slept in 24 hours. All things that will subside as he learns that’s he is safe. He is dog friendly! He has been with our pup Theo all day, and he is obsessed. He wants to follow and be around Theo at all times. However, he’s never been trained so he jumps and humps. He wags his tail and hasn’t snarled or growled a bit. Physical condition: not good. As you can see he’s probably 20-30 lbs overweight. His hips seem to bother him a bit. His ears are almost entirely swollen shut from a yeast infection. He definitely has some vision loss, hard to tell the extent. He’s incredibly dehydrated. He hasn’t pooped. He has a large soft fluid tumor on the base of his tail, doesn’t seem to be painful. His coat and skin are actually not in terrible condition... but he has some calluses and burns from living on concrete for 6 years. He is intact and will need to be neutered. He is not house trained and will mark inside. We are taking him to receive his first round of shots today and to have a general assessment. He will need some extensive vet care and we’re hoping you all can help us offset the costs, and help get him some food, a bed, and all his medical treatments he will need. More info to come. But he needs an immediate foster that can invest in him. He really needs to be fostered somewhere that has a yard. Someone with breed experience.  Might be better fostered as an only dog to start, as he can’t get his mind off the other dog and rest - but may be okay if he is on a rotation schedule with another dog. We’ve got him safely cared for in the meantime, but are hopeful to find a long-term (4ish weeks) foster ASAP, as he gets acclimated to the better life he deserves.

For those who haven't heard, Ryan Shaw was unfortunate one of the four people injured at the gable house shooting. He took a bullet to the knee and now not only will he not be able to work for a while but also the things he loves like surfing ,riding his bike and taking his dog for a walk. He is a south bay legend and deserves help to heal. Insurance is not covering nessecery coast for physical therapy, So anything anyone can give would help him tremendously. Don't let someone else's hate take away his loves in life.
