<div>Hello, my name is Richard, I'm an actor in Berlin, and a while ago I started this campaign for Dannielle, a trans woman who fled Uganda, and a small LGBT community that is trying to survive in the Gorom camp in Sudan.

<div>Dannielle and her community wrote the following text—they can do it better than I can.

<div>"Hello dear friends and kind supporters,

<div>We are a small group of LGBTQ refugees from East Africa — from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and South Sudan — who came together while escaping persecution, violence, and rejection because of who we are and who we love.
</div>
<div>Our journey began in Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya, where many of us first met and formed a community while trying to find safety. But life there became unbearable for LGBTQ people. We faced daily attacks, harassment, and threats. Some of us were beaten, our shelters burned, and we often went without food or protection.
</div>
<div>As time went on, the Kenyan government made it even harder for LGBTQ refugees to live safely or receive protection. We were no longer welcomed, and support for LGBTQ people was pushed away. It became clear that we could not survive there, and many of us had to leave once again — even though we had nowhere safe to go.
</div>
<div>Some of us managed to reach Gorom Refugee Camp in South Sudan, where we are now trying to rebuild our lives together. But even here, life remains very difficult. We have no proper shelter, not enough food, and we often sleep outside under the open sky.
</div>
<div>Our situation worsened when USAID and other organizations stopped their assistance for LGBTQ refugees, leaving us with almost nothing. We now depend only on each other and on the kindness of strangers who care about humanity and equality.
</div>
<div>Our group includes about 12 LGBTQ individuals — transgender women, gay men, and queer youth — who continue to stand together for love, peace, and survival. We are asking for your help to raise funds for:

<div>• Safe shelter and protection for our group
</div>
<div>• Food, clean water, and daily essentials
</div>
<div>• Bedding, blankets, and clothing
</div>
<div>• Medical and mental health support
</div>
<div>• Communication costs to stay in touch with allies and support organizations

I am proud and happy to support my friends in the Gorom UN refugee camp in South Sudan, a group of LGBTQIA+ refugees facing poverty, discrimination, harassment and violence. I’ve gotten to know them through video calls and messages, and am in awe of all of their strength and bravery through incredibly difficult challenges. Months after we began speaking regularly, my friend Samalie was resettled as a refugee in Canada where she is finally safer, thriving, and has the opportunities she deserves to be happy and free."

<div>To those who know and love Marcy, you know she is always worried about the wind messing up her hair, in case it reveals her receding hairline and prominent brow.

<div>On the next step of Marcy becoming her authentic self, we have found a surgeon in the UK who will be able to reduce the brow and fix her hairline. This will greatly help ease her anxiety, improve her self confidence, and she won’t have to spend as much time worrying about her appearance.

<div>My name is Leo and I am a trans masc boy living in Brighton. I started my transition journey 4 years ago and finally started T almost a year ago now.
</div>

<div>I am not the kind of person that likes to expose himself and ask for help but luckily I am surrounded but the most supporting and kindest circle that have encourGed me to do this. I know that I will not be able to fully feel myself and come out to the world as the real me until I get my top surgery done. Now that i have spent my first summer on T, I start to struggle with stopping myself from several ocassions and interactions in the seaside where I do not feel confortable exposing my chest and where I struggle to be perceived and feel confident of who I trust myself to be.

<div>More than being in HRT, my main goal was to do the top surgery to stop feeling weird and distanced from the body I hVe always desired to see when looking at the mirror.

<div>After some research and having in mind my situation I decided that if having the funds enough I will have my surgery back home in Canary Islands which is cheaper and close to family to ease up my recovery. An operation there goes from 4,000€ to 5,000€

<div>I know it is quite an amount and a lot to ask to strangers or even friends but I feel that at least I should try.
</div>

<div>I have also decided that if after a year reaching the amount becomes impossible I will just donate whatever to another fundraiser for the Trans community, so know that if this doesn't end up helping me you will be helping someone else regardless.
