When my husband and I first moved into this place, we met our wonderful neighbors the following week. My husband was at work, and I saw Mary struggling to get her husband’s electric wheelchair through the yard to bring him out of the car. Once we managed to get the wheelchair to him, it was a real challenge getting him back through the yard. When we finally made it, we got stuck on their little back porch, and her husband and the wheelchair almost fell backwards off the porch three different times. We had to lift him out of the chair to get him into the house, and had to leave the chair outside.
I’m a stay-at-home mom, but I don’t have the strength to lift him every time he needs help back into the house, and I feel awful that Mary doesn’t have much help either. Her husband is paralyzed and also dealing with stage 4 prostate cancer and kidney dialysis, which makes their daily life even harder. They deserve a safer, easier way to get in and out of their home.
I want to bless Mary and her husband with a ramp to help make their lives easier. The funds raised will go directly to hiring a professional to build a sturdy, up-to-code ramp for their home. Any support you can give will mean so much to them and help make a real difference in their lives.
