Raquel’s world was turned upside down this past weekend when her beloved daughter Ava tragically passed away in a car accident. Ava was a spitfire—full of energy, spirit, and a zest for life that made every moment brighter. She was very much loved by her family, and her loss has left an unimaginable void in Raquel’s family and community. As friends, we are heartbroken for Raquel and Andy and want to surround them with love and support during this incredibly difficult time.

<div>Hello everyone, my name is Candice Roberts, and I am organizing this for <strong>Josh Rock (A.K.A. J-Rock or Cowboy)</strong>. As most of you know, Josh was involved in a very serious car accident on Sunday evening here on North Padre Island. He sustained major injuries that will require numerous surgeries as well as an unknown amount of time in the hospital. He is in the ICU at the moment but is in great hands and is starting to slowly show signs of improvement and hopefully on the road to a full recovery.

<div>In the coming days, weeks, and months, <strong>Josh could use the love and support from us all as well as some financial assistance to help with the doctor bills and financial burden that comes with being out of work for the unforeseen future</strong>. Support Josh Rock's Road to Recovery

<div>Wow! How has it already been 2 years since our last fundraiser?! 2 years ago we were able to raise $7,213 for Hope Mommies boxes. That is 120 boxes! 120 boxes went to 120 families who experienced infant loss at our local hospitals in the last 2 years.

<div>I pulled out the last remaining funds last week and was able to supply both hospitals (Bay Area and Spohn) with 15 boxes each. So I'm now coming to you again to help fundraise for another year's supply of boxes. With your help, I'd love for each and every family who has to experience the pain and sorrow of infant loss to receive a Hope Mommies box.

<div>You may be wondering what is a Hope Mommies box? And what is Hope Mommies? Their vision is to help every family who experiences infant loss find community, grief resources and ultimately the Hope of Christ who is our unfailing anchor. When I was in the hospital room spending time with our sweet girl Mina, our doulas brought in a Hope Mommies box. When opening the box, I was greeted with an uplifting letter from another mom who had been exactly where I was. I will never forget the words "I know your pain." Hearing those words truly broke down the wall of isolation that was building over the course of my time in labor, it's a moment I will cherish forever. Also in the box was a bible, devotional on infant loss, small gifts for me, some bath products for my baby and other items. This box was SUCH a blessing to me.

<div>We lost our daughter, Mina Husby, on August 22, 2021 at 31 weeks pregnant. There is absolutely nothing that can prepare you for that kind of heartbreak. Learning you've lost your baby while still being pregnant is truly impossible to comprehend. Then you are expected to go into labor and meet your baby in a way you could have never even dared to imagine. Receiving a box after that experience and reading the words from another mama who has been in this exact circumstance, brought such an indescribable comfort. Over these last 2 years, we were able to purchase, prepare, write letters and pray over 120 boxes going to families that would be in the exact same position as I was. I even had moms reach out to me after receiving a box. I will always cherish the messages I received and mamas I got to meet from this ministry.

<div>In a way, this was how I got to mother our sweet Mina. With each box I was able to write her name and tell a bit of her story. This is my little way of honoring and loving our daughter.

Hope Boxes for Infant Loss

<p>Hi, my name is Kristi Alaniz-Garcia and we are raising funds for our brother, Ricky as he literally is fighting to live. He has COVID and is in the hospital and he is struggling for every breath, fighting to survive this awful virus. Ricky is an amazing guy and if you know him, you love him the second you meet him. He does not know a stranger and he is one of the best friends you will ever have. He has the biggest heart, always willing to help anyone in need. When Hurricane Harvey hit the Coastal Bend he pulled every resource imaginable to feed anyone and everyone. He gathered as many volunteers as possible to help prepare and cook food to feed FEMA, Red Cross, First Responders, volunteers and local residents affected by Hurricane Harvey. He purchased all the food and donated everything to help everyone as they worked to recover and rebuild from this hurricane disaster. Ricky is a small business owner and he currently owns Bluffalo Wings Co. in Flour Bluff. As a small business owner, he does not have medical insurance and he will definitely need help to pay for the insurmountable medical expenses he is incurring daily.

<p>He is a father of three. His daughter, Savanah, age 21 is a senior at TAMU-CC. His son, Landon, age 16 will be a Senior and his daughter, Jenna, age 10 will be a sixth grader at Flour Bluff ISD.

<p>Ricky is a pillar of the Flour Bluff community, particularly active, respected and very supportive of the Flour Bluff school district and the neighborhood. He left his nursing career a few years ago to open a restaurant, The Location, with our parents in Tilden, TX. They sold that restaurant a couple of years ago and Ricky has successfully opened two restaurants, Bluffalo Wings Co. in Corpus Christi, Texas. He is returning to nursing and had plans to start his new job this week.

<p>COVID is merciless and we lost our Mother, Olga Alaniz to this horrible virus last year. Our brother, Rick is strong and healthy and an avid runner and he is valiantly fighting every day for a single breath. He needs our help, our love, support and infinite prayers. We lost our beloved Christina Mata Gron, daughter, sister and mother of two beautiful children, Tyler and Gabriela. Her uncles Ricky, Alex and Marcos have set up a scholarship fund for their educational needs. They will need a lot of love and support, this will help fill some of their financial needs. As a result, part of the home was burned and destroyed. Due to my parents declining health over the last few years, their funds have been completely tied up in their medical care and they unfortunately did not have home insurance. We are working on seeking financial assistance for a loan through the VA and scraping up what we can, however it may not be enough to get my parents back into their home. 
</p>

<p>Things could have been much worse and I would like to thank the Weslaco Fire Department and other emergency responders for their quick action in preserving the rest of the home as well as their support during this difficult time.<br /><br />I am grateful more than anything that my family was able to make it out alive, as others have not been so lucky. My family and I are doing all that we can to rebuild the home we grew up in, but would appreciate any support that you can offer. Thank you and God bless.

House Fire Emergency Fund for Mejorado Family

<p>Early this morning (November 14th, 2019), we received news of a tragic loss that our sweet Val Dino had passed away in a car accident early in the morning in San Marcos.  It is a true tragedy that someone as amazing as Val could be taken from this world so quickly.  Illusionist, magician, ridiculously talented balloon artist are just some of the hats you wore. You were also a dedicated son and wonderful brother. <br /><br />Val was an amazing person, kind and generous and full of life. Your generosity and love for your City and the children in  your community will forever sit with me.  <br /><br />Val's family needs all of our support, love, positive energy and prayers. <p>From Ben Abbott  - Val and I always did the dumbest stuff just to put a smile on people faces. We didn't care how bad we embarrassed ourselves. My obsession for hot dogs was the best. We couldn't go anywhere without someone bringing it up and we loved it. You couldn't say the word "hot dog" around us without laughing. Val was more then a friend to me. He was family. We mixed our friendship with business and tried our best to help make the world a better place. We didn't care about the money. We cared about the smiles. Although he is gone there is no way anyone can forget him. I will also remember how our last conversation was in fact about hot dogs. RIP<br /><br /><br />My name is Soo Teal and Val has been my friend for over 8 years. I loved him dearly and his family is my family. I will be assisting Lisa (Val's sister) and his family during this difficult time. All funds will go directly to Val's family and any expenses they need help with.

Funeral Expense for Val Dino

My mom, Leslie, was recently diagnosed with cancer after being admitted to the hospital multiple times. After running multiple tests, doctors were unable to catch it early, and results confirmed that her cancer had progressed to stage 4. Due to the severity of her cancer, Leslie will be undergoing chemotherapy. Funds raised will go towards the cost of chemo treatments as well as other medical bills for Leslie. The South Texas Heat Football Organization is asking for help for a great young man, a phenomenal athlete and his family. As most of you know Joshua Earls was in a serious accident and is in critical condition. We ask for help in raising money for him and his family with any medical and financial expenses they may need. We ask if you could keep Joshua in your everyday prayers and  for prayers for strength so that Michael  and Melissa to be by Joshua's side and remain strong for him.
