<div>‎‏ On the morning of October 7, 2023 The sound of explosions shattered the quiet of northern Gaza. In the midst of the chaos and the deafening blasts surrounding us, my family and I tried to escape from the brutal reality we were facing.

<div>‎‏We struggled to walk through streets filled with rubble, desperately seeking shelter as we moved south.
</div>

</div>
<div>‎‏During our harrowing journey, we met another family—samar, a 26-year-old girl, her 16-year-old sister Ghazal, and her young brother , not even five years old. They had been separated from their parents in the chaos of the bombardment.
</div>
<div>Together, we continued our trek southward, hoping to find some form of safety.
</div>

<div>‎‏When we arrived in the southern part of Gaza, we were left in the open—no homes, no shelters, no safety. I did my best to gather any cloths I could find and built a makeshift tent for both families.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>‎‏This "tent" offered no protection from the heat or the cold, and was overrun with insects and flies.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>‎‏And so, I became the sole provider for both families, a caretaker for the children in the absence of their parents.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>‎‏One day, as was often the case, I took my son Mohammad with me to the market to buy some food. In that moment, the sound of drones overhead was followed by the sudden burst of gunfire. The next thing I knew, shrapnel struck my head, and Mohammad was injured in his legs.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>‎‏We were rushed to the field hospital set up by the International Medical Commission, where we were immediately taken into surgery. The doctors did their best to save us, but Mohammad's injuries were severe. He now urgently needs medical treatment outside Gaza.
</div>

The Struggle for Safety and Survival: Your Help is Our Only

We live in Al-Nuseirat, Gaza, a place where life has become a daily struggle for survival. Despite graduating with a degree in Primary Education from Al-Azhar University, the harsh reality of limited opportunities forced me to take a job at a milling company. I’ve worked hard to provide for my family, but the ongoing war has turned our lives upside down.

Now, we find ourselves struggling with the most basic of needs: water, food, safety, and security.

<div>After much thought and discussions with my wife, we have made the decision to seek a way out for my family. I believe that the only way to secure a safe and prosperous future for my children is to leave Gaza and start anew. But doing so requires resources that I cannot gather on my own.

<div>We need $40,000 to cover the costs of leaving Gaza and establishing ourselves in a safer country where we can rebuild our lives. Here is the breakdown of our needs:

My mother told me I was born four months before the war started in Gaza. 
That means almost all the days of my life have been war, fear, and loud explosions. 
I don’t remember what life was like before the war. 
I remember people running, my mother holding me tightly when bombs fall, and nights where we cannot sleep because of fear. 
Many times we had to leave our home and go somewhere else. ‍♂️
My mother says this is called displacement, but to me it feels like losing everything again and again. ️
Now we live inside a small tent. ⛺
Sometimes the wind shakes the tent and I wake up scared in the middle of the night. ️
Sometimes rain comes inside and everything becomes wet and cold. ️
But the hardest thing for me is hunger. 
Sometimes I ask my mother, “Mom… is there food today?” 
Sometimes she hugs me and stays silent because there is nothing to give me. 
I also had a little cat that I loved very much. 
She was my friend in this scary world. 
I used to hug her and sleep next to her every night. 
But one day there was bombing near us. 
And my little cat was killed in the explosion. 
I cried a lot that day and I still ask my mother where my cat went. 
Now I live in a tent with my family and we try every day to find food, water, and safety. 
I am only a small child. I did not choose this war.

My family and I live in very difficult circumstances after October 7, before we were living a happy life filled with joy. Our house was completely destroyed, and the house of my older brother, “Dia,” who was supposed to marry soon, was destroyed. we had to flee to save ourselves to a less safe place after the Israeli army ordered to move to southern Gaza.
