Distressing news! Now that we have Michael's A number, Lori V and I were able to speak with Emily Bendana, an amazing Immigrant Attorney near Little Falls, NJ. Emily was able to determine that Michael has a deportation hearing scheduled for October 7 in a Houston Court. Lori and I reached out to 2 different Immigration Attorneys in the Houston area to have a Writ of Habeas Corpus filed! Michael's family does not have the resources necessary to help him. We are most grateful for your help, and most importantly for sharing this page! The cost of attorney fees, court costs, bond, and transportation is overwhelming!

In that frightening moment, Michael’s first concern was for his family’s safety, so he told officers that he lived alone. He is now being held at a refuge outside Houston, Texas, and his family still has not been given clear information about his exact whereabouts, even though Michael is a minor. This has been an incredibly painful and frightening experience for everyone who loves him. Michael’s family is doing everything they can, but they do not have the financial means to hire an attorney or to bring him home once he is released. The funds raised will help secure legal representation for Michael and help cover transportation so he can safely return to his family.
