In January of 2025, I was diagnosed with Lupus, a life-changing moment that has brought many challenges. Before my diagnosis, I had to leave my long-term job in 2023 and apply for disability, which I finally received. While I am grateful for the support, it has not been enough to cover the mounting medical bills and ongoing expenses that come with managing this disease. My treatment plan includes infusions and weekly injections, both of which are expensive and only partially covered by insurance. I also need mobility devices to help me get around, but insurance only pays for a portion of these costs. One therapy that has made a huge difference for me is red light therapy, but unfortunately, insurance does not cover it at all. Despite the financial strain, I have noticed a significant improvement in my health thanks to this therapy. Lupus has also affected my dental health, and I need partials for my teeth. My insurance only covers 50% of the cost, leaving me with another large expense. I am reaching out to my friends and anyone who sees this fundraiser to ask for help and support.
