Hello Friends, As many of you are aware, for the past 28 years, I have lived with Multiple Sclerosis and have done my best to cope with the daily struggles that come with this chronic illness. Unfortunately, I am now facing a very serious situation. My HVAC unit has failed in my home and, living on a strict fixed income, I was not prepared for this unforeseen expense. I simply do not have the funds to replace the aging system. Living in Clearwater Florida, temperatures have already climbed above 90 degrees, making the temperature in the house significantly higher and creating dangerous conditions for me. Even using fans, I can't seem to stay cooled. With MS (Multiple Sclerosis) when my core body temperature becomes too high, it can trigger extreme weakness, severe illness, and the possibility of an MS relapse. I have even been hospitalized in the past because of these heat-related complications. My physicians have made it very clear that I need to remain in a stable, cool environment to help prevent these episodes from happening and protect my health. Unfortunately, there are long-term risks and consequences associated with MS relapses, and there is always the fear that any damage caused during a relapse could become permanent. All funds raised will go directly to purchasing a new HVAC unit, professional installation, and upkeep in the future.
