GOFUNDME UPDATE — CONTINUING TO FEED THROUGH THE TYPHOONS & FLOODING
Hello everyone,
We wanted to share an important update and, most importantly, say THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support.
The past few weeks have been extremely difficult. We have been experiencing typhoon conditions for nearly three weeks, and now we are preparing for the possibility of three more typhoons. Many areas have experienced serious flooding, making an already difficult situation even harder for the stray animals who depend on Ms. Cherrie and her team for food.
Despite these conditions, Ms. Cherrie has remained committed to feeding the animals. Because the need has become so great, she and her team have extended their feeding efforts to as much as 16 hours a day to reach as many hungry animals as possible.
There have been areas where the floodwaters became so high that their driver was afraid it was no longer safe to continue through that particular route. Instead of giving up on the animals waiting for them, they have worked to find safer alternative routes around the flooded areas so they can continue reaching and feeding them without unnecessarily risking anyone’s safety.
Unfortunately, the longer feeding days and additional travel have also created another challenge. With feeding efforts lasting up to 16 hours a day and longer alternative routes being necessary because of the flooding, gasoline expenses have nearly doubled.
At this time, fuel alone is costing approximately ₱1,000 Philippine pesos every day just to keep the feeding routes going and reach the animals throughout the different areas. With severe flooding forcing the team to take longer and safer alternative routes, transportation has become a significant part of the daily expense.
Your donations are therefore helping with more than simply purchasing food. They are also helping provide the fuel and transportation necessary to actually get that food to the animals who are waiting for it. ❤️
These animals don’t understand what a typhoon is. They don’t understand why everything around them is flooded or why food has suddenly become even harder to find. They only know that they’re hungry and waiting for someone to come.
And because of YOU, Ms. Cherrie and Stray Gatekeepers by Heart are able to keep showing up for them. ❤️
Every donation—no matter the amount—helps provide more food, more bowls filled, more fuel to reach difficult areas, and more animals cared for.
We feel incredibly blessed to have such wonderful donors standing behind this mission. Whether you have donated, shared this fundraiser, or continued following and supporting Ms. Cherrie’s work, you are part of what makes all of this possible.
Please continue to keep Ms. Cherrie, her team, their driver, everyone affected by the typhoons and flooding, and especially all of the animals out there waiting for them in your thoughts and prayers. ❤️
We will continue sharing photos and updates on social media so you can see exactly how your generosity is being used and the difference it is making.
None of this would be possible without you.
From Ms. Cherrie and everyone at Stray Gatekeepers by Heart, and from every little paw and hungry belly you have helped feed…
THANK YOU. ❤️
