I’m starting this fundraiser for my French bulldog, Zoey, who is currently in a critical situation. Zoey is facing aspiration pneumonia and is also at risk for ARDS, and watching her go through this has been heartbreaking. She is currently being hospitalized at Access veterinary hospital, and right now my focus is on getting her every bit of care she needs to keep fighting and recover. She means so much to me, and this has all happened so suddenly, making it incredibly overwhelming to carry both the emotional and financial weight of an emergency like this.
<br>
<br>
 The funds raised will go directly toward Zoey’s medical bills and her overnight hospital care. Every donation will help support the treatments and monitoring she needs during this urgent time. <strong>Any support means the world to us.</strong> If you’re able to give, share, or keep Zoey in your thoughts, thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping her get the care she needs and giving her the best possible chance at recovery. You can follow Zoey’s journey through her instagram handle im_zoeyzoe.

</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hi everyone, my name is Rosa Esmeralda, and I’m writing this with a completely broken heart.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>What was supposed to be a normal day with my baby suddenly turned into a nightmare.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Spaky was hit by a car unexpectedly and rushed into emergency veterinary care.</strong> The person who hit him did not stop. They drove away and left my injured baby behind on the street.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In just seconds, my entire world changed.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>After emergency scans, neurological evaluations, CT scans, X-rays, blood work, hospitalization monitoring, and trauma exams, the veterinarians discovered that Spaky suffered multiple serious injuries, including:
</div>
<div>• a fractured hip/pelvis
</div>
<div>• neck injuries
</div>
<div>• head trauma
</div>
<div>• a fracture in his tail area
</div>
<div>• neurological damage concerns
</div>
<div>• loss of mobility in parts of his body
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Right now, he cannot walk normally and struggles to move properly after the impact. He is currently under 24-hour observation while the veterinarians continue monitoring how his body responds and heals over the next days.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The next step in his recovery is a very critical procedure that could give him the chance to keep living and healing. I’m doing everything I can for my baby.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Seeing him like this has completely shattered me emotionally.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Spaky is not “just a dog” to me. He is my son. He is my family. He is one of the sweetest, most loving, affectionate, playful, energetic little souls I have ever known. Anyone who knows him knows how full of life and happiness he normally is.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>That’s what hurts me the most.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Seeing my baby unable to walk, confused, traumatized, and in pain after always being such a joyful little dog honestly breaks my heart in ways I cannot explain.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He sleeps beside me, comforts me when I cry, follows me everywhere, and has been my emotional support and companion through some of the hardest moments of my life while I’ve been building my life independently in Los Angeles as an artist.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The veterinary hospital informed me that Spaky will need:
</div>
<div>• continuous medications
</div>
<div>• neurological monitoring
</div>
<div>• hospitalization and trauma care
</div>
<div>• IV fluids and pain management
</div>
<div>• CT scans and imaging
</div>
<div>• blood analysis and rechecks
</div>
<div>• orthopedic monitoring
</div>
<div>• rehabilitation and mobility support
</div>
<div>• hip surgery
</div>
<div>• long-term recovery care
</div>
<div>The official veterinary estimate for Spaky’s treatment currently ranges between $12,687.45 and $15,859.31. Unfortunately, I do not have pet insurance, and this emergency happened at a moment I was completely unprepared financially.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>I have already used my savings and paid everything I possibly could to keep helping my baby, but I am still far below what is needed for the treatments, surgery, rehabilitation, and recovery that are still ahead of us.</strong> The doctors also explained that the costs may continue increasing depending on how Spaky responds over the next days, how his body heals, and whether he ends up needing additional procedures, surgery, rehabilitation, or long-term neurological care.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As a single dog mom trying to survive independently in Los Angeles, these emergency costs became overwhelming overnight.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>I am asking from the deepest place in my heart: if you can help in absolutely any way, through a donation, repost, or prayer for my baby, it would truly mean everything to us.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for helping me fight for Spaky and giving my baby boy a chance to heal, recover, and hopefully walk again someday.
</div>

<p>A beautiful soul was taken from us too soon.  Lo was a light to so many lives.  She loved people with all of her heart, she was always there when you needed her, she was pretty, she was kind, she was funny, she was smart, she was particular about the oddest things, she loved Disney movies, she put hot sauce on everything, she laughed too loud, she argued solely for the purpose of proving you wrong, she was feisty, she was silly, she was sweet, she was a bright spirit, she was a wanderlust, she had big plans, she was passionate about so many things, she was so special that there will never be words to adequately describe her.  <br /><br /> Plans to honor our cherished friend, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt and godmother are forthcoming.  In the interim, we are raising funds to help cover the cost of the services.  Anything in excess of this will be placed into a fund for her niece.<br /><br /> Lo touched so many lives in her time here with us and we would love to be able to share those memories with everyone.  If you have photos or videos that you would like to share, please reach out so that we can include them.<br /><br /></p>
