My mom, Ellen Gurganus, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and I am doing everything I can to support her through this incredibly difficult time. As we begin to navigate appointments, treatment, and all the emotions that come with a diagnosis like this, we are also facing a growing financial burden. Because of an insurance mixup, out-of-pocket medical expenses have started to accumulate, adding even more stress to an already overwhelming situation.

 Ellen should be able to focus on what matters most right now: healing and getting through treatment. Instead, we are trying to manage the uncertainty of both her health and the unexpected costs that have come with it. I created this fundraiser to help ease some of that financial pressure so she can move forward with the care she needs without carrying this burden alone.

<div>We are local aviators from the Carolinas, Florida and beyond. Thousands of people who have no way out of the flooded areas rely on us to get them out or get them the supplies they need by helicopter or aircraft. Your funds will support this mission by supplying and have already supplied 100 low lead and jet fuel, maintenance of the aircraft and helicopters, supplies such as oil, parts and labor to maintain aircraft and receiving supplies at Anderson, SC and shipping them up to NC via truck,aircraft and helicopter. We could not have done it without you and all the volunteers committing their resources and time. The tempo has slowed down as the roads are opening up and the supplies are saturating the areas.
