<strong>Mykyta Moris</strong> is 27 years old and was wounded on 14 September 2026 while carrying out a combat mission to evacuate the wounded. During that rescue mission, he suffered injuries that led to a double leg amputation. He is currently in the hospital recovering from multiple surgeries, managing severe pain with ongoing medical oversight, receiving specialized post-op nursing care, and starting early bedside rehabilitation to prepare for future prosthetics.
<br>
<br><strong>Donations will help cover:</strong>
<ul>
 <li>Medical supplies</li>
 <li>Specialized post-op nursing care</li>
 <li>Physical therapy and rehabilitation</li>
 <li>Prosthetics preparation</li>
</ul>
<br>
<br>
 I am raising funds for Mykyta because he is my childhood classmate and close friend from Ukraine. We have stayed close over the years, and I am also very close with his wife, Alina. After the war started, I moved to Europe and later to the United States, while Mykyta stayed in Ukraine to defend our country. Since then, I have stayed in daily contact with both Mykyta and Alina to support them however I can.
<br>
<br>
 Because I am now in the United States, I am managing this fundraiser to gather international support for Mykyta. <strong>All funds raised</strong> will be transferred directly to his wife, Alina, to help cover his recovery and rehabilitation expenses. If you are able to help, any contribution will mean a great deal to Mykyta and his family during this difficult time. If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser would also make a real difference. Thank you for standing with Mykyta and Alina.

Support Mykyta Moris After Combat Injuries

<div>Hello! We are Marya E. Gates and Robert Daniels, freelance film critics living in Chicago. You may remember that last year our cat Miss Fanny Brawne had a heart attack. The good news is she is doing much better! The bad news is she has ringworm! She has also given me (Marya) ringworm. We are both on meds and should clear up in a few weeks (or maybe months for Miss Fanny), but in order to make sure we do not reinfect each other our entire apartment has to be deep cleaned. Miss Fanny also has to go back for check-ups and tests for the next few months.
</div>
<div><br />
</div><img alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/101410467_1773948454631407_r." width="100%" />
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is going to cost $5000 between the doctor and vet visits (roughly ~$2000 all in), the deep cleaning ($1200 for the first time, then we'll need to have her quarantine room cleaned again for about $300) and the laundry (we have to wash every single blanket, article of clothing, or anything else that Miss Fanny or I have touched in the last few weeks and until I am no longer infectious we have to launder all my sheets daily, so we're looking at ~$300 or more there), Robert has to stay in a hotel until we get the place cleaned enough for him to be in the space, and all the other expenses that are adding up. We also have to replace Miss Fanny's beloved cat tree, which cannot be cleaned properly and has to be chucked into the trash.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div><img alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/101410467_1773948477815372_r." width="100%" />
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Robert and I are both freelancers and we have taxes coming up and if you've ever worked freelance, you know that freelance taxes are incredibly high. The cost of all this treatment has wiped out all of the money I (Marya) had saved to pay my taxes. Also, as you might know I (Marya) had to stop working for a few months last year when my Dad passed away, so my non-tax savings has also taken a hit.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Any help would mean the world to our little family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you.

</div>
<div>Urgent Help Needed After Devastating Fire: Supporting My Family
</div>
<div>On Tuesday, January 6th, at approximately 3:00 AM, a devastating fire broke out in my father’s apartment in Queens. This home has been the cornerstone of our family for decades—it’s where my father lived and where my sisters and I were raised. It is now completely destroyed.
</div>
<div>We have lost absolutely everything. All of our clothing, furniture, and personal possessions—including irreplaceable family photo albums— as well as all remnants of recently lost loved ones…all gone. The loss is immeasurable, both financially and emotionally. Our family is heartbroken and struggling to process this devastating event.
</div>
<div>A Father Who Always Gave
</div>
<div>My father is the kind of person who has spent his entire life helping others. I have never seen him turn away anyone who needed help or a shoulder to lean on. He consistently goes out of his way for friends, family, and even strangers, never asking for anything in return.
</div>
<div>His character and generosity has always been something that I’ve admired and made me the man I am today. It made my sisters into the independent, strong young women they are today. Now, in our darkest hour, we are humbly asking for support to help us.
</div>
<div>Our Immediate Needs
</div>
<div>Right now, we are scrambling to provide immediate and essential assistance:
</div>
<div>• Immediate Shelter &amp; Basic Needs: Funds are urgently needed for temporary housing, food, and essential necessities (basic toiletries, coats, clothing).
</div>
<div>• Starting Over: Help securing a new permanent residence and replacing basic household goods and furniture, as we literally have to start from scratch.
</div>
<div>If you are able to assist in any way, consider helping us navigate the next few weeks and months as we try to rebuild our lives. Every donation, no matter the size, will make an immediate and profound difference.
</div>
<div>Thank you for your generosity, your prayers, and for taking the time to read our story.
</div>
<div>A simple share or a prayer can make all the difference for our cause and helping us find the light at the end of this dark tunnel following this tragedy.

Urgent Help needed Devastating Fire Support for my family

<div>Help the residents of 18-26 Madison rebuild after a 5 alarm fire destroys three buildings.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My name is Julie, and I am one of the residents of 18–26 Madison Street. On January 6th at 3:30 a.m., a five-alarm fire broke out in Ridgewood, destroying three consecutive buildings, including our own.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our building was home to several families in five apartments:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>- Krista and Ali, with their cats Nino and Dora
</div>
<div>- Tom and Bovena, with their daughter Sharon.
</div>
<div>- Caitlin, a frequent foster for Ridgewood Rescue Cats
</div>
<div>- Grazyna and Pawel, with their Cavapoo
</div>
<div>- Julie and Julia
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We have all been displaced. Many do not have apartment insurance and have lost everything. The emotional toll is heavy, and the uncertainty about the future is overwhelming.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The funds raised through this campaign will help the families of all five apartments with immediate needs like food, clothing, and temporary housing. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a huge impact on the lives of those who have lost their physical possessions and sense of security. Your kindness, support, and willingness to share this fundraiser mean the world to us as we work to recover and rebuild.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This wasn’t just an apartment building - it was a home and a close-knit community and anytime you walked down Madison, there were always friendly faces ready to welcome you home.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our hearts are with all of our neighbors who have lost so much in this fire. Please check our their fundraising pages, they have been incredible neighbors:

<div>We are deeply grateful to the FDNY, first responders, and the surrounding community for their compassion, care, and swift action during this incredibly difficult time.

</div>
<div><strong>UPDATE (1/28/25)</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thanks to your incredible support, two apartments/families and a building resident have secured new housing and can begin the process of rebuilding. The other residents are finding their footing and can take a breath thanks to the outpouring of generosity and care. This has been a beautiful community to be apart of.

Help Survivors of 5 Apts in Ridgewood Fires at 18-26 Madison

<div>Early this morning, two of our longtime Cachapas y Más employees, Edgar Coque and Silvia Guevara, lost everything when their apartment caught fire.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The fire started around 3:00 AM in a neighboring unit. Edgar, Silvia, and their two children—ages 7 and 4—were forced to run out immediately, escaping safely with only the clothes they were wearing. While we are incredibly grateful that their family made it out alive and unharmed, they lost everything inside their home: coats, clothes, toys, furniture, cash, cell phones, and irreplaceable memories built over years.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Edgar and Silvia have been an integral part of the Cachapas y Más family for years. Their work ethic, respect for others, attention to detail, and genuine kindness set an example for everyone around them. Our restaurant would not be the same without them—we are better because of who they are, both as teammates and as people. Above all, they are loving, dedicated parents who work tirelessly to provide for their children.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In a single night, Edgar and Silvia lost their home and everything they owned. Rebuilding their lives, finding stable housing, and replacing basic necessities will be incredibly difficult without support.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This fundraiser is about community. It’s about supporting the people who work behind the scenes to keep the restaurant industry—and this city—moving forward. Edgar and Silvia are the real driving engines of New York: hardworking, resilient, and always showing up for others.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Any contribution, no matter the size, will help them take the first steps toward stability and starting over. Thank you for supporting this family during an unimaginably difficult time.
</div>

Help Edgar and Silvia Start Over After the Fire

<div>Hi Everyone,

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>It's with my deepest regret to let you all know Harry, my basset hound, is in need of a serious operation to save his life. He's a loved dog that's known from the Upper West side to Cypress Hills and most notably as a welcoming host at Posteritati.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Very recently I discovered Harry has a growth attached to his spleen that could rupture, more likely as time passes. It's very large but after x-rays and ultrasounds it's looking more benign than malignant so there's a good chance he could not only survive but be cured.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>That's where you can help. Whether it be a donation or simply sharing this page, Harry and I would be beyond grateful for any and all help.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>He's still too young to let this be the end for him. Harry was a rescue adoption I've had for nearly five years and already had a tough life being previously abandoned and contracting heart worm. He's a fighter though, as he survived that treatment prior to adoption and is still active now.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>We're hoping for surgery in May so please, any timeliness is appreciated. Thank you for all your help.

Help Harry Fund: Surgery Needed to Save His Life

<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hi all,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Jeff was diagnosed with a stage 4 glioblastoma in April 2021. For those familiar with this disease, it is an incredibly aggressive form of brain cancer.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He’s been in hospitals and rehabs for much of the past year and a half. Jeff has already shown incredible resolve in fighting this tumor, but his and his family's lives are forever changed, with their day-to-day solely focused on his care.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div> Jeff has been in the hospital since June, and his wife and two young daughters have been working toward the milestone of him coming home. However, when he's finally released from the rehab facility, he will need 24-hour care that insurance won’t fully cover, and his family cannot handle themselves fully. We hope the funds raised here will cover the costs of a full-time home health aid that can allow him to remain safely at home and give Traci, Vivian and Sascha peace of mind. If we meet our fundraising goal, we will also plan to invest this money on Traci's behalf so that she has a cushion when she needs it for future medical costs.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>So many people have supported the Kayes already. We are one small part of a group of his close friends in Brooklyn who have established a GoFundMe to help with his care, and we hope any friends who can contribute will do so. If you're unable to, we hope you'll consider passing this along to anyone who knows Jeff and has experienced his friendship, kindness, and generosity.

<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Love to you all,
</div>
