<div>Steve Corr has recently been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a diagnosis that has deeply shaken all of us who know and love him. Steve has always been an amazing leader and a true friend to so many in our community, and now he needs our support more than ever.

<div>Steve is currently receiving care at Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene, where his medical team is working diligently to prepare him for chemotherapy. Before beginning treatment, doctors are waiting on further test results to tailor his chemotherapy to his specific variation of AML, ensuring he receives the most effective care possible.

<div>Steve is expected to remain in the hospital for at least a month or more, depending on how long it takes his bone marrow to rebuild after treatment. This will be an incredibly tough journey for him, as the intense nature of his chemotherapy means he must stay far from home to receive the specialized care he needs.

<div>His wife, Kristin, has been making frequent trips to Coeur d'Alene and staying there to be by his side during this challenging time. Both Steve and Kristin will be taking time off work to focus on his treatment and recovery. The funds raised will not only help with medical expenses but also with travel costs, lodging, and day-to-day bills as they navigate this difficult phase together.

These funds will allow us to build our medical fund from $0 to a small amount in case of emergencies, keep plenty of food in stock, currently we spend $700 per week, take everyone for their annual check ups, fence in a better play yard for those that have springs in their legs and can easily jump a 6 foot fence, put up a couple more kennels, bring in more Pea stone and some pavers to keep everyone dry as mud season is coming. We also need covers for a couple of our kennels and a couple more dog houses.

People tend to forget we have them and need to provide for them as well for the remainder of their lives.

<div>We have approximately 30 acres of property on which we'd like to expand! With this help we could help other northern breeds, provide low cost boarding for rescues that have no room, and eventually train some of these dogs to become service animals for those that need them .

<div>As we have said we have big plans for these dogs who have so much to offer. They are such a loyal, loving, incredibly smart and hard working breed. Help us start on those big plans as not many rescues have the acreage we have that can be developed to do so much more than just rescue these dogs. There are only so many pet homes out there and even less that can handle a large stubborn breed like the Alaskan Malamute. But if they are trained for jobs like service animals, Search and Rescue, etc., then they will have so many more opportunities. Is it fair for a military veteran to come home in need a service animal and be told that it will cost thousands of dollars? Or a needy child? These dogs are the perfect option to be trained for these jobs.

<div>Hey guys. Cody's diagnosis was officially 'B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia'. As of today he is on his 4th round of chemotherapy, and is expected to be on that regimen for a predicted 6 months. The donations coming in have been amazing but we still have a long way to go! <div>Adams County Pet Rescue is a shelter in Eastern, WA. 
</div>
<div>This is a hard post to write but a necessary one. We find ourselves in a position that we will only survive if we have donations. The government agencies that we work with are unable to find the funds to support us. We are going to have to depend on people who don't know us, who don't live in our area but who have a deep love of animals and understand the importance of having a pet rescue in Adams County. 
</div>
<div>We find ourselves in the same position as other rescues and shelters around the country, it is no secret there are too many dogs and not enough adopters for them all. We cringe when shelters and rescues continously bring in dogs from out of state and country as we look at our owm good dogs and see them continue to not be adopted.
</div>
<div>We are overworked and continously stressed not only about more and more animals needing help but about the economic side of operating a pet rescue. It's no secret that we are barely surviving. We've battled parvo and the inability to do adoptions during those times while still keeping the shelter animals fed and cared for.  We asked for donations earlier this year and had a super first time auction which are are immensely grateful for! Grants seem to be non-existent for our type of pet rescue. 
</div>
<div>We want to give up, it's  exhausting on every person involved due to not knowing if we can continue.  We look at all of the good we do but there comes a point where we can't do anything without funding. 
</div>
<div>ACPR wants to share with you the cost of running our shelter.
</div>
<div>We just paid over $11,000 for our insurance coverage. 
</div>
<div>Every two weeks our employee wages cost close to $24,000.
</div>
<div>The vet bills for basic spay/neuter and things that normally come up that need help come to an average around  $10,000/month.  All of our dogs and cats that leave the shelter must be spayed/neutered, be vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on vaccines including rabies. We do basic health care with our vets but anything extra for injuries and illness we fundraise for on a case by case basis.

<div>The cost of keeping a dog for a year is close to $1,100 and we have over 120 dogs, many of them have been here over 9 months because they are Shepherds, Pits and Huskies. 
</div>
<div>Our utilities are close to $5,000 a month for power, propane, phones etc.
</div>
<div>Our expenses through the end of August come out to $596,395.52. These are the basics to keep the shelter running with no extra finds to replace things like our washing machine, kennel doors, septic etc. 
</div>
<div>Our adoptions have totalled $153,391.00 and donations have totalled $174,727.00, contracts with the government agencies have totalled $112,996.
</div>
<div>In order to make payroll and expenses just through the end of the year, we need close to $200,000. 
</div>

<div>Hey friends and family, thanks for giving us the time to grieve our mom. We are ready to celebrate her as she would want and I hate asking for help but we could really use it now. My mom was the only family I have and now it’s up to myself and my siblings to pull this together for her. Due to her getting sick so fast, we all took off a lot of time from work to be there in the end to help take care of her and be there as she passed and of course needed more time for ourselves after that. We are asking for help so we can celebrate her with all our friends and family and the 4 of us kids will be splitting whatever is left over to help us recover as well.

<div>Our sculptor is animator, comic book artist and sculptor Ruben Procopio. Long affiliated with Walt Disney Feature Animation as an animation artist and sculptor, Rubén was instrumental in reviving the maquette process at Disney Feature Animation film production in the 1980s. He is the founder of Masked Avenger Studios, whose clients include Warner Bros. Animation, New Line Cinema, Cartoon Network, Electric Tiki, Enesco and DC Comics. He is known for his versatility and dynamic style in sculpting and drawing. Ruben even sculpted a bust of Adam West, through Masked Avenger Studios. <div>The placement will be Menlo Park just off of Alvarado Terrace in Walla Walla. This is the perfect park for Adam's statue because it is just down the street from where Adam went to school as a little boy (Green Park) and only one block away from the house where a young Billy Anderson (Adam West) lived. Alvarado Terrace is now also known as ADAM WEST WAY where his name was added to the street to honor him in 2017 after his passing.

<div>Our top priority has always been to respect the wishes of the family of Adam West. We only wanted to proceed if we had their blessing and only if they approved the design and project. We are very happy to let everyone know that the family is in full support of our project and the design itself. One thing that was very important to them, and us as well, is that the statue should be of the man himself and not Batman. As we all know Adam was much more than just Batman as his amazing career spanned more than 60 years!
</div>

<div>The design of the statue is an homeage to Adam West during the classic days he hosted at the famed Hollywood Palace. As you can see from the main photo the statue will be on a base with a surrounding lighting system. One special feature is at night there will be a light projecting a Bat to pay tribute to our Bright Knight!

<div>Our statue will be 100% privately funded and we have the full support of our local City Council who voted on the approval of the statue awhile back. Ruben Procopio will be working closely with our local Foundry on every step of the process while reporting the progress to the family of Adam West. The work at the Foundry can begin in approximately one years time (Sept, 2022) so now is the ideal time to raise the necessary funding. The estimated cost of the statue, including expenses and installation will be approximately $200,000. Our goal is to break up the fundraising efforts in Four phases of $50,000 for each phase.
