Maria Hurtado

</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hello, my name is Maria. I am a single mother who has worked over 15 years serving the Hispanic community through public schools and the healthcare, and other sectors. I never imagined I would be in a position where I needed to ask for help—but this year has brought more challenges than I could have prepared for.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I recently lost my job with WSFCS and, for the past four months, I have been without stable employment. During this time, I have only been able to work occasional some weekends, which has not been enough to cover basic living expenses. I am waiting to start my new job! But currently waiting for my work permit, which has delayed my ability to start a new position. I hoping to start working soon.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>At the same time, several unexpected hardships have happened all at once. My refrigerator broke and needs to be replaced, my heater stopped working during the winter, and I must renew my vehicle registration, taxes and tags to remain mobile for work opportunities. I also had to pay immigration-related fees—an unavoidable but necessary expense—while still being out of work.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This season has taken a toll not only financially, but emotionally. The stress of unemployment, uncertainty, and personal challenges has affected my mental health in deeper level. Still, I continue to show up every day for my children, doing everything in my power to stay strong, hopeful, and focused on rebuilding stability for my kids.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am humbly asking for support to help me get through this critical month. Donations will go directly toward essential needs such as household expenses, utilities, transportation requirements, and replacing basic appliances.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Any amount—no matter how small—would make a meaningful difference and help bring peace of mind during a very difficult time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is my birthday month, and more than anything, my hope is to finish this year strong and step into the new year with renewed stability and hope. I truly believe that better days are ahead, and with a little help, I will be able to move forward.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Thank you for your empathy, generosity, and kindness. I am very thankful for your support.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>May God bless you, and may the new year bring light and hope to us all.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Sincerely,
</div>
<div>Maria H.
