<div>My name is Abigail, and I'm raising funds to help my aunt Sandy start over after a fire destroyed her house. She lost her brother, her pets, and all of her belongings in the fire. This money will go towards clothes, personal care items, housing, and other expenses as she starts her life over from scratch.

</div>

Care for Sandy After Her Loss

<div>My name is Angela Lipps. I'm a 50 year old grandmother from Elizabethton, Tennessee. I have three grown children and five grandchildren. I have never been to North Dakota or even any of the surrounding states. I've never visited Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa, or anywhere else near North Dakota.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On July 14th, 2025 a team of U.S. Marshals showed up at my home while I was babysitting four young children. They arrested me at gunpoint and took me away. Until then I had never had a gun pointed at me. These poor children saw everything happen. It breaks my heart. They were so scared.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>What I later learned, after many days in jail is that police in Fargo, North Dakota had been investigating a bank fraud case. A woman used a fake military ID to steal tens of thousands of dollars from banks in Fargo. The cops ran surveillance footage through facial recognition software. That AI software said it was me. A detective looked at my Tennessee driver's license and my social media and agreed. Nobody called me. Nobody asked me a single question. They just got a warrant.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I sat in a county jail in Tennessee for 108 days. They said I was fugitive from justice. I had no bail. No one interviewed me. I just sat and waited.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On October 30th I was taken from the jail and flown to North Dakota. It was the first time I had ever been on an airplane. I was terrified. They put a restraint device around my waist and handcuffed me and walked me through the airport in front of everyone. Everyone was staring. I was terrified and exhausted and humiliated.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I was given a lawyer in Fargo. The lawyer pulled my bank records and showed that I was in Tennessee the entire time. My bank records prove that I was at a gas station, ordering a pizza, and using Cash App at the very times they said I was 1,200 miles north in Fargo. I was taken by the U.S. Marshals on July 14th. It wasn't until December 19th that my lawyer and I finally sat down with a detective. It took five minutes for the whole thing to fall apart. Five minutes.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On Christmas Eve, after more than five months in jail, the charges were dismissed.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I was released into a North Dakota winter wearing summer clothes. I had no coat, no ride, no way home. Fargo police did nothing to help me. Local defense attorneys gave me money for a hotel room and food on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. A local nonprofit founder drove me to Chicago and from there I got back home to Tennessee.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>No one from the Fargo Police Department has apologized.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I pleaded with the U.S. Marshals to get my dentures and take them to jail with me but they refused. For six months I had no dentures. Jail would not allow me to have them. You can see it in my mugshot. The one they put on the news. That photo was taken at the worst moment of my life and they published it for the world to see.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>While I was in jail I lost everything.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My family put my personal belongings into storage but the bill couldn't be paid. Everything is gone. Everything. I lost my rental home in a mobile home park. I lost my Social Security income. I lost my health insurance. I lost my doctors. I lost my dog. I lost my car, a Chrysler Sebring convertible and everything inside of it. I lost brand new clothes and shoes that I had just bought. I lost tools, cables, a battery charger, a tire inflator. Everything.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I missed Halloween with my grandkids. I missed my 50th birthday. I missed Thanksgiving. I was released on Christmas Eve but I was stranded in North Dakota with nothing so I missed that too.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My neighbors watched me get arrested. People in my community assumed I was guilty. I was charged, so in their eyes that was that.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I gained 65lbs from fluid retention and poor diet when I was in jail. I just got my health insurance back and have an appointment coming up with a doctor. I don't sleep at night. I'm up every hour, thinking and praying, thankful that I'm no longer locked up but terrified that it could happen again. I shake when I think about that day. I am not the same woman I was. I don't think I ever will be.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am now living with neighbors in the trailer park. I have no car, no money, and no way to start over on my own. I have always been an independent woman. I cannot start life again with nothing.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>There are news articles documenting everything I've described here. Every word is verified and on record. <a href="https://www.inforum.com/news/fargo/ai-error-jails-innocent-grandmother-for-months-in-fargo-case" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><a href="https://www.inforum.com/news/fargo/ai-error-jails-innocent-grandmother-for-months-in-fargo-case" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.inforum.com/news/fargo/ai-error-jails-innocent-grandmother-for-months-in-fargo-case</a></a>

</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you can give anything, $5, $10, whatever you can, please know that it makes all the difference in the world. I understand if you can't give money, can you please share this story? That matters just as much. People need to know that this is happening in America and it could happen to anyone.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Note: My name is Michael and I started this GoFundMe with Angela's permission. This happened in my community and I had to figure out a way that I could help. What happened to Angela is one of the worst injustices I've ever heard of and she deserves better than what she got. I have no personal connection to her and nothing to gain from this. I just couldn't let it go.

Innocent Grandmother Jailed 6 months by AI error

<div>The morning of January 21st my Dad, Pat Bucklin, had a house fire. The fire caused significant damage to his house and belongings. We’re incredibly grateful that he is safe, but he lost many essential items and is facing the difficult process of rebuilding his life. He’s currently hospitalized for smoke inhalation and second degree burns on his head, face, and hands. Unfortunately his dog Maverick didn’t survive the fire.
</div>
<div>We’re looking to help him get back on his feet. Right now his greatest need is replacing his clothing, house hold necessities, and unexpected expenses. When he’s out of the hospital he will temporarily stay with his daughter Jenna until he can secure housing. We are deeply grateful for any donations and support.

Help supporting Pat after a house fire

Hi friends and family and Prayer Warriors of Team Upton –<br /><br />As close friends of Ann and Jamie, we want to share with you this Go Fund Me Campaign to help with Claire’s recent medical challenges.   <br /><br /><strong><u>The Story</u></strong><br /><br />On September 14, after a week of illness, Claire went to the ER in Fargo and presented with concerning lab work.  Of particular concern were levels related to her kidney functions and kidney failure.  Claire was air flighted to Sanford Children's Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  The following day Claire underwent surgery to place a picc line and dialysis catheter.  The dialysis process was started late on Tuesday and has been met with some struggles as Claire has adverse reactions to the process.  For the past several days, she has undergone a dialysis treatment each morning from about 8:00 – 11:00 am.   <br /><br /><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>The Diagnosis and Treatment</strong> </span><br /><br />Claire's medical team is currently operating under the diagnosis of Atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (aHUS).  This is different than HUS that presents through ecoli, but rather atypical is the genetic form.  It will be several weeks before this diagnosis is confirmed as they wait for the genetic testing results.  Until that time, she is being treated with the medication for aHUS.  If this is the confirmed diagnosis, Claire will need this medication every two weeks for the rest of her life.  This medication is one of the most expensive on the market and currently costs approximately $6500 every two weeks.  You can read more about aHUS here:    <a href="https://rarediseases.org/rare-diseases/atypical-hemolytic-uremic-syndrome/" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://rarediseases.org/rare-diseases/atypical-hemolytic-uremic-syndrome/</a><br /> <br /><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">How You Can Help</span></strong><br /><br />Along with all of you, our hearts and prayers this week have been with Team Upton as they have faced this surreal experience.  And, Prayer Warriors – those prayers are working as there are daily improvements in Claire’s test results.  Keep praying!  In addition to praying for her medical needs, please pray for Claire as she navigates these changes as a 16 year old.  <br /><br />Jamie, Ann, Amorelle and Claire are filled with faith, but they need our help.  If you know Team Upton, you know that they are selfless in their acts of kindness towards others and now it's time for us to show them our love and support.  <br /><br />This GoFundMe is being set up to help Claire and her family with expenses such as the air flight, medications and housing for Jamie and Ann while they are in Sioux Falls.  Unfortunately, the Ronald McDonald house is closed due to COVID-19, so they are faced with finding their own housing.  It is anticipated that Claire will be there several weeks.  In addition, Claire has no confirmed diagnosis and, depending on the outcome, may have a lifetime of expenses related to medical treatment.

Claire's Courage

I started this campaign for my niece Maisie and her parents Martin Forrest (my brother in law) and Ciji Green (my sister). Maisie was diagnosed with SMA type 1 a fatal disease that they are now seeking treatment for, there is no cure so Maisie will be under constant care of Doctors in Denver. There is a one time treatment that the FDA recently approved for children 2 and under that we are now trying to get for her. Unfortunately it carries a price tag of 2.2 million dollars and we are up against the wire trying to get insurance companies to write policies on it. <br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Maisie’s Story: <br /><br />Maisie has been severely low tone since 2 months old. She’s been doing physical therapy and occupational therapy to try and improve her strength since she was 4 months old. <br /><br />After months of fighting doctors... we were admitted into Rocky Mountain Children’s Hospital to meet with a neurological team to deal with her strength issues and also an occupational team to deal with her feedings.  She had quit eating when she was 5 1/2 months old. We were then transferred to Children’s Hospital Colorado to work with a neuromuscular team. <br /><br />Maisie was unable to move anything but her right arm. She struggles to breath on her own especially when sleeping. She can’t sit up and she can’t swallow. SMA is evil. <br /><br />It was confirmed on June 14, 2018 that Maisie has spinal muscular atrophy type 1. This is possibly the worst news a parent can hear. <br /><br />We spent From May until January in Denver with our baby fighting for her life. <br /><br />In this period of time, Maisie's family was separated, and out of work. They have now been home and able to start getting their feet underneath them and build some sort of normalcy. But not all Maisies medical expenses are covered and we surely don’t have enough for what they are calling the closest thing to a cure. <br /><br /><br />We are asking for the community’s help for:<br /><br />The family is in need of financial support to be used for ongoing medical expenses, and expenses for Maisies future. We also want her to continue to receive spinraza the drug that has kept her alive. It comes with a price tags of 125,000 every 4 months. We are unsure if insurance companies will pay for both treatments. Again neither is a cure just treatment. Wouldn’t you do anything and everything to give your child the best opportunity to survive. we believe getting both drugs will give her that. <br /><br />The support the family receives will be an immense help. <br /><br />Any amount helps. Thank you so much for your thoughts, prayers and donations. Help us create another miracle for Maisie.<br /><br />Please like her page Miracle for Maisie on Facebook! You can continue to follow her story there.

Miracle for Maisie

<p>Patrick was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy in 2002 after experiencing several different symptoms related to his kidneys. IgA nephropathy is a kidney disorder that occurs when IgA—a protein that helps the body fight infections—settles in the kidneys. After many years, the proteins damage the kidneys.<br />He became sicker and sicker until he needed to start on dialysis in 2006. In August 2006 Patrick received a kidney transplant, donated by his brother Brad. Up until now, Patrick has been managing with his transplanted kidney and anti-rejection medications.<br />On August 23, 2014 Patrick began to get sick. The symptoms looked similar to a flu; fever, lethargic, cough, no appetite. That Monday he went into the walk-in clinic and was prescribed a ZPak and told to follow up with his kidney doctor if there was no improvement. He only seemed to worsen over the next two days, the cough becoming worse, and he was sleeping the majority of the day. Wednesday morning  (Aug. 27) Lindsay called his nephrologist and described his symptoms, and was told to take him to the ER right away. In the ER they decided to admit him to the hospital since he had some elevated labs related to his kidney. <br />While in the hospital, his cough began to worsen. They started him on oxygen, and had to increase the dosage constantly to keep his oxygen levels normal. They moved to using a BPAP machine, and even then couldn't keep his oxygen levels in check. They finally had to put him on a ventilator so he could get the oxygen he needed and also so they could get a scope in and get a sample of what was showing up on his chest CT scans. <br />It wasn't until a week after being admitted that we received a diagnosis of a severe fungal infection in Patrick's lungs, that had made its way through the rest of his body as well. The drug used to treat this severe of an infection is toxic, and will damage his only kidney, but without it he will not survive.<br />He is currently sedated and on the ventilator still and we are waiting to see if the drug they've given him is working. It takes 5-7 days to show any sign of improvement. <br />Please take the time to pray for Patrick's healing. Even after he overcomes the fungal infection, he will face a long recovery with needing a new kidney transplant.</p>
