My name is Marcus Edwards, professionally known as Iam Goldeneyes. I am a photographer and mixed-media artist whose work explores resilience, identity, and the beauty that can exist even in life’s most difficult moments. Photography didn’t just become my career—it changed my life. Having experienced homelessness myself, I understand how quickly circumstances can change. That experience continues to shape my work and inspires me to tell stories that remind us of our shared humanity. My ongoing body of work, Any of Us, explores themes of homelessness, perseverance, and hope through photography combined with hand stitching, gold accents, and tactile materials. Every piece is created to encourage viewers to look beyond appearances and recognize the dignity in every person. I have been honored with an invitation to participate in an artist residency in Tokyo, Japan. This opportunity will allow me to immerse myself in a new culture, create new work, collaborate with artists from around the world, and bring those experiences back to my community. Your support will help cover round-trip airfare, housing and residency expenses in Tokyo, photography equipment and art materials, local transportation, printing and production of new artwork, and rent for my apartment while I am away, ensuring I have a home to return to and can continue creating when the residency ends. This residency represents more than travel. It is an opportunity to grow as an artist, build international relationships, and create work that bridges cultures through photography. Whether you donate or simply share this campaign, you become part of this journey. Thank you for believing in my work and helping me take this next step.
