Hands that Hold - Manos que Albergan is a safe haven for women and children in Tecate, Baja Mexico, who have bravely left unsafe situations in search of a better life. For nearly a decade, a devoted husband and wife have poured their hearts and resources into building this shelter from the ground up, providing not just a roof, but a true home. Their unwavering support has given these women and children a place to heal, grow, and regain their independence. The shelter offers food, clothing, housing, medical and dental care, job placement, re-housing, and spiritual guidance. Every woman and child who arrives finds a community that helps them overcome the difficulties of their past. The founders, humble business owners and pillars of the Tecate community, have carried the weight of this mission alone for eight years. Now, with the rising cost of living and growing needs, they are reaching out for help to continue their work. Immediate needs include replacing the front gate, renovating the largest room into separate studios, and updating kitchen appliances. The shelter also urgently needs toiletries, clothing, food, medicine, school supplies, furniture for families transitioning to new homes, and financial support to cover the costs of utilities, medical and dental services. Your support will help ensure that Hands that Hold - Manos que Albergan can continue to provide safety, dignity, and hope to women and children who need it most.
