The last few weeks have been incredibly rough for my family and me. On March 17th, after days at the hospital with my pregnant wife—who was life-flighted from Newport, Oregon to Portland for emergency surgery—I came home to grab more clothes and found my mom had passed away in our house. My two teenage daughters, Adryan (13) and Nevaeh (15), saw their father break down as I called for help. It took hours for the authorities to finish their investigation and for my mom’s body to be picked up. In that moment, I felt like I was about to lose everything—my mom, my wife, and our first baby together. I prayed to God, Jesus, and my family in heaven not to take my wife or our child after just losing my mom. After finally getting to Portland, I found my wife in a coma, surrounded by hospital equipment and doctors working around the clock. She needed emergency surgery to deliver our son at 32 weeks, and I spent days signing paperwork and waiting for news. Thankfully, our baby boy was born and is now in the NICU. While I’m grateful for his life, I’m overwhelmed by grief and worry. I’ve been out of work for a while, and my wife can’t work as she recovers. We have urgent expenses: my mom’s cremation, travel between Newport and Portland, rent and bills, and essentials like gas and food for my daughters and newborn son. I’m asking for help from anyone who can support us during this difficult time. Your kindness will help us honor my mom’s memory, cover urgent expenses, and keep our family together as we navigate this crisis. Thank you for reading our story and for any support you can give.
