Abo is a good man who lived a normal life as a pharmacist before October 2023. He has a wife and two twin children, Yahya and Layal. His parents and his two siblings are living nearby in this desolate refugee camp, having gotten used to the horrible sound of nearby explosions and drone attacks. The so-called “ceasefire” has done little to nothing to actively improve their living conditions. <div>I don't know how to begin. We used to talk about our sorrows and complain to family members so we could receive love and support that would ease the burden on us. But now my family and my people are afflicted. Everyone is in pain, everyone is dying without exception, and no one hears us. No one can ease our pain. Gaza was destroyed, and with it our lives, our memories, our warm home, even our dreams. We no longer dare to dream.

<div>In northern Gaza, we experienced events that felt like the horrors of the apocalypse. We emerged from under the rubble more than once, but thank God we survived each time. Days passed with terrifying sounds of bombing, explosions, and the screams of neighbors. Every time I held my children in my arms, I hoped not to cry so I could appear strong in front of them, but the situation was much bigger. I was trembling. And I cried just like them. We were besieged many times and couldn't get food or water. Seeing my children throw themselves on the ground from hunger and thirst was terrifying. How could I be so helpless? I would imitate them and throw myself on the ground and cry too.

<div>We were displaced from our home three times. It was terrifying. Seeing the bombing around us and seeing people dying in the streets as they fled was terrifying. My husband and I grabbed our children and ran, not knowing where to go. We ran as fast as we could, not knowing when to stop and where to stand.

<div>No matter how much I describe the horror and pain we went through, I won't be able to, but I know you feel it from the bottom of my heart. I hope you support us so we can survive. I just want to silence the hunger in my children's stomachs. Please.

Protect my children from starvation (North Gaza)

<div>Hello! My name is Lilly and I’m from Melbourne, Australia. I’m organising this fundraiser on behalf of a dear friend of mine, Omar Jumaa, who lives in Gaza and has been displaced due to the war.

<div>Before the war, Omar lived with his parents and siblings in two houses in northern Gaza. These houses were destroyed by IDF bombing in July and December of 2024, forcing the family to take shelter in tents.

<div>The family currently reside in a single room at a relative’s house. To make some extra space, Omar and his brothers occasionally sleep outside in a tent. These living arrangements are not sustainable in the long term.

<div>Displacement has devastated the family both physically and emotionally. Pointing to the rubble where the two houses once stood, Omar writes, <em>“This is our home, here are our memories, in every corner of the house we have a memory in it</em>.<em>” </em>With your help, we can work towards the construction of a new home where more memories can be made.

<div>I am Rehab from Gaza, a mother of six children, 5 girls and a boy. We lost everything: my home, our company that was our source of livelihood, and my newborn son because of the war. I was pregnant and gave birth to a child and named him Mustafa. After 4 days of his birth, he died because of malnutrition, the smell of explosions, fear, and displacement from one place to another. I want people to stand by me and extend their affection to my six children so that I do not lose them. I want to leave Gaza in any case. I am in a torn tent that does not protect us from the bombing, the heat, or the winter. I want to rent a house to protect my family from the harm of the tents. Help me and do not ignore me.
