A few weeks ago, my daughter started showing symptoms that no parent is ever prepared for. She began experiencing weakness and loss of feeling on one side of her face, trouble with her eye, and difficulties with her everyday activities. Urgent imaging revealed a lesion in her brainstem, a critical area that controls essential nerve functions. The doctors diagnosed her with an inflammatory demyelinating condition, meaning her immune system is attacking her nerves. She has been hospitalized and is undergoing intensive treatment, including high-dose steroids and immune therapy, to stop the inflammation and protect her brain and vision. This sudden illness has turned her world upside down. She has missed school, lost her routine, and is facing physical limitations no child should have to go through. As her father, watching her go through this has been very heartbreaking. While we are hopeful and grateful for the care she is receiving, the journey ahead involves continued treatment, scans, and long-term neurological care.

 Donations will help cover many costs that come with my daughter’s medical care such as hospital bills, specialist appointments, imaging, and medications that are critical to her recovery. As treatment continues, she may also require therapy and additional testing to monitor her progress and protect her vision and nerve function. Funds will also help with travel expenses to and from medical facilities, time away from work to be by her side, and basic daily expenses as our family focuses on her care. Most importantly, this support will help me to focus on being present for my daughter and supporting her physically and emotionally without the constant stress of financial strain during this very difficult time. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps ease the burden and helps give my daughter the care, and comfort she needs as she heals.
