We are a disabled couple who have dedicated our lives to rescuing and caring for abandoned cats. Our love and passion for adoption began over twenty years ago, and in the last ten years, we both had to stop working due to health loss, which was no fault of our own. My husband is a pulmonary patient and I have been disabled since 2015, no longer able to drive due to vision loss and a light stroke, so I depend solely on him for transportation. This change resulted in losing over 40% of our income, making it increasingly difficult to keep our pet supplies stocked and provide the care our rescues need.
Because we could not have children of our own, rescue became a passion for us. I was adopted at the age of three and experienced emotional trauma from being separated from my siblings, which gave me a deep empathy for others in need and inspired me to help animals. All of our pets were abandoned and found us, each with their own unique story, just as I have my own story of rescue. Our eleven cats are all vetted and cared for with love, but the costs for food, litter, and vet care have become overwhelming. This summer, we faced excessive vet bills when four of our cats became ill, and one needed overnight observation, putting a burden on our emergency credit card.
Donations to our fundraiser will help cover ongoing food, litter, vet expenses, and gas for trips to our vet, who is an hour away. Your support will relieve the burden from recent emergencies and help us continue to provide a safe and loving home for our furbabies. Thank you very much for helping our rescues.
