<font color="#333333">On January 10, 2024, our world was turned upside down. I received a call that would change our lives forever, the news that my husband had been in a horrific car accident as a pedestrian, and was on his way to the hospital—it felt like the ground beneath me vanished. Racing to the hospital, my mind swirled with fear, uncertainty, and an unimaginable dread.
When I reached the hospital, the words hit me like a tidal wave – they weren’t sure he would make it through the night. In those agonizing moments, I prayed for a miracle. And, by some divine intervention, he survived. But the cost was heavy—his left leg, amputated below the knee, broken right leg, and his lung collapsed, he was in critical condition. I had never known such fear, such helplessness. The road to recovery stretches before us, as Jefferson has already endured several surgeries and countless more to come. Our lives have changed forever, I can only be grateful that our children will still have their father.

For those unfamiliar with our story, we are a young, blossoming family with three beautiful children and one more on the way. The picture you see above was taken on New Year’s Eve, a snapshot of our happiness, blissfully unaware of the tragedy that awaited us.
Now, we find ourselves reaching out, vulnerable and in need. As we navigate this storm, we ask for your help, your kindness, and your support.

<div>As most of you know, I am a High School Visual and Performing Arts Teacher in New York at Manhattan Business Academy (MBA), a Title 1 Public School in Manhattan. I truly love what I do and want my students to have the opportunity to explore different mediums that will help expand their knowledge and experiences of art. Many of them have never taken an art class before walking into my classroom because they come from underprivileged backgrounds or schools with a lack of resources. Unfortunately, although MBA is very supportive of the arts, the budget allocated for the arts is unfortunately not enough. I want to raise money to provide students with an in-depth art curriculum with a breadth of mediums that will allow them to experiment with materials they have never used before. I am an advocate for social justice and use that as the thread of my pedagogy when it comes to teaching art to my students. I want them to understand that art is more than a pretty picture hanging on a wall and that it can be used to bring awareness to and change issues and inequities in society today.

I want to give my students a competitive edge by taking some of these classes themselves. ($22 per student per class)

Sadly Sunday morning on January 30th 2022. Our amazing friend, neighbor and business owner, Kim, also known as "Mama" for her care of the neighborhood was brutally assaulted and stabbed in the neck leaving her injured shocked and partially paralyzed at this time. This was a senseless act by a crazed individual (Known to be seen driving a blue old-oxidized ford explorer). This business provides for her, her husband and small family. For whatever altercation arose this grown man came and took the decision to attack and ultimately stab her in the back of the neck and left for dead. The community is looking for help for her and sending love to them. She always laughed with and cared for me and my friends offering and feeding us food she would be cooking for her own dinners in the back of their store. So sweet. . . . So please anything matters so much. This will help with medical bills and to cover any costs so they dont have to depend on the store to stay afloat. Anything helps and will be sent to her husband who is still working.

On April 4th my family and I became victims of an assault, in result of which our beloved pet, Ponzu, died.<br /><br />Ponzu, the 3 year old, British Shorthair was a very special, one of the kind cat. He was gentle, kind, loving, caring, and playful. He was curious and loved being outdoors. He was well travelled. And he’s been universally loved around the globe together with his “siblings”: Mango (Sun Conure parrot), Tofu (Shiba Inu dog), and Kimchi (Tubby cat). <a href="https://www.instagram.com/ponzucoolcat/" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.instagram.com/ponzucoolcat/</a><br /><br /><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Assault</strong></span><br /><br />On Easter Sunday, Apr 4th, around 5pm, our family walked back from a park when we became victims of an assault. A 12-year-old boy suddenly ran into Ponzu causing shock and injuries leading to Ponzu’s death. The boy nor his family not only did not offer any apology or remorse. They immediately began shouting slurs at us and blaming us (!). The verbal abuse escalated into a physical assault. One guy punched Mango (!) and terrified Tofu pulling my dog by the tail. I got punched and kicked by 3 women. And my boyfriend got sucker punched from behind by the same cowardly guy. My boyfriend suffered a broken nose and glasses and required a surgery next day. The emotional stress and a heartache from losing our beloved cat and watching his last moments is tormenting us to this day. Our pets are traumatized too.<br /><br />We love our neighborhood and we never expected to become victims of such an assault in a broad daylight on Easter Sunday. It is not ok to be attacked without reason. It is not ok to see your pets being hurt by cruel people with no empathy to animals. It is not ok to feel unsafe in your own neighborhood. It is not ok to be unable to seek proper enforcement of law for individuals harming your pets because of the antiquated law which treats pets as “property” and depriving them of the proper rights.<br /><br /><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Your Help</strong></span><br /><br />By donating to this fund, you will help us in pursuing justice and in the legal fight that is ahead of us. Justice for Ponzu (and Mango and Tofu)

My mother, Hyun Jung Grant( maiden name Kim), was one of the victims of the shootings in Atlanta, Georgia at Gold Spa. This is something that should never happen to anyone. She was a single mother who dedicated her whole life to providing for my brother and I. It is only my brother and I in the United States. The rest of my family is in South Korea and are unable to come. She was one of my best friends and the strongest influence on who we are today. Losing her has put a new lens on my eyes on the amount of hate that exists in our world. As much as I want to grieve and process the reality that she is gone, I have a younger brother to take care of and matters to resolve as a result of this tragedy. Frankly, I have no time to grieve for long. I will need to figure out the living situation for my brother and I for the next few months, possibly year. As of now I have been advised to move out of my current home within the end of March to save money and find a new place to live. My biggest priority right now is to put my mother to rest and plan out the funeral but due to some legal complications, I am unable to obtain my mother's body. I don't think I'll be able to figure out this whole situation along with legal matters if given 2 weeks to move out. Any donation will be used as funds for basic living necessities for my brother and I such as food, bills, and other expenses. I wish to stay in my current home for at least one more month to sort everything out. Any amount would be forever appreciated. Please everyone just stay safe and check up on your friends and loved ones that may feel endangered.

<span style="color:rgb(51,51,51);">Hi everyone, I am fundraising for my grandmother that was racially attacked today on 3-17-21 market street. I am amazed by her bravery. She was the one that defended herself from this unprovoked attack. But she is now suffering two serious black eyes and one that is bleeding unstoppably. Her wrist has also swelled up. She has been severely affected mentally, physically, and emotionally. She also stated that she is afraid to step out of her home from now on. This traumatic event has left her with PTSD. Although she has health insurance that covers the basics, there are still many medical expenses that cannot be covered on her own. She is a cancer survivor and she also has had diabetes for over 10 years now. The funds that we receive will be used to cover her medical expenses, her therapy treatment, and her bills that we will have to pay constantly from now on. We want to thank everyone that is donating and that has shown my family massive support through this very traumatic event. My heart is with all the other elderly asians that has also been seriously injured or killed in this wave of attacks towards the asian community.</span>

My name is Stephen Park and I’m the CEO and co-founder of Asian Boss.<br /><br />My co-founder Kei Ibaraki and I started this media company 7 years ago in Sydney, Australia.<br /><br />I left my high-paying job as a lawyer and Kei as an architect to pursue our life-long vision of transforming mainstream media. We believed we could do this by bringing people’s voices together and bridging cultural gaps between Asia and the West. <br /><br />So, we went all-in. We couldn’t just sit by knowing that the world was becoming more and more divided and no one seemed to be doing anything about it.<br /><br />With no experience in journalism and filming, we uprooted ourselves from Australia and moved to South Korea in 2015. We had to strategically place ourselves in Asia in order to be able to capture the most authentic voices and stories from Asia that needed to be heard. We started working out of coffee shops all day long to create content but soon ran out of money. We were so broke at one point that we’d sneak in and out of coffee shops without even ordering coffee (shoutout to Starbucks for not kicking us out).<br /><br />Fast forward to 2020 and after many sleepless nights, we were on our way to becoming a legitimate media presence. We built up reporting capabilities from more than 6 Asian countries and even managed to attract like-minded investors who were willing to back us while we focused on creating content.<br /><br />Then COVID-19 changed everything. <br /><br />One of our investors suddenly went bankrupt, leaving us in a massive hole that we could not have anticipated. In the end, it was my fault as the CEO - I was too focused on creating quality content and left little attention to monetization. Now we are faced with the harsh reality of possibly shutting down Asian Boss forever. We laid off over 40% of our employees and instituted pay cuts for the remaining staff, and moved to a much smaller office to extend our lifeline. But the fact remains that we are still months away from running out of funds.<br /><br />We truly believe that if we can survive this, we will go on to become one of the biggest news media brands in the world that is focused on making positive change. How do I know? Because with our limited resources and pure hustle, we raised over US$700,000 to date through our videos to help people in need:<br /><br />*We helped a school teacher in an Indian slum build and maintain an elementary school so that she can provide free education to children.<br /><br />*We raised money for a Korean grandma making less than $2 per day and gave her a free home makeover when she was freezing to death in Korean winter.<br /><br />*When a 15-year-old single mom from the Philippines wanted to go back to school after her infant baby died, we paid for her entire high school tuition fees.<br /><br />*We helped a pastor who saved more than 1,500 abandoned babies sustain his operation.<br /><br />*We gave money and new homes to struggling single mothers and fathers of Korea.<br /><br />And the list continues. All you have to do is go to our YouTube channel and check out our videos. If we can pull all this off with a team of 10 people, just imagine what we would be capable of when we become bigger.<br /><br />So for the first time and the last time, I am asking for your help. Save Asian Boss

I received a call last weekend from a young Japanese lady named Yumi in Jackson Heights, Queens that I did an injured pigeon transport for once. She asked me if I could help her with an injured cat so I met with her and saw this cat in a vacant lot.<br />She told me that she had been trying to catch the cat for some time now and the first time she saw the cat was a few months ago and another person that feeds the stray and feral cats on the block said the cat has been like this for months.<br />I immediately contacted a friend with a drop box trap in order to catch the cat because I did not have a drop box trap only the standard and with the cats legs sticking out sideways it would never make it into the narrow trap. I watched the cat run and drag its body on one side which broke my heart and could not believe that this cat is on a residential block with people walking by every day and seeing the condition of this cat and nobody stepped up to help it except for Yumi.<br />I was unable to get the cat in the trap the first night due to many human obstacles but the 82 year old woman who feeds the cat managed to grab it yesterday and put it in a box which was not the best idea because she had to go to the hospital afterwards and we could have avoided her getting hurt but I am happy she got the cat. Now the cat is in a large cage in my basement.<br />Yumi named it Sammy because we don't know if it is a male or female yet so its either a Samuel or Samantha aka Sammy for short.<br />I have to get Sammy to a vet for examination which I will do this weekend but I have found that with this Corona Pandemic Veterinarians are really taking advantage of the opportunity to balloon the prices.<br />I'm sure Sammy's vet bill will be massive and looking for donations to cover the initial visit and future procedures that will have to be performed.<br />I will post pictures of the initial bill and estimated costs of future procedures that need to be performed. Tips for Lenin Standing Up To A San Diego Karen

Our family has owned and operated a small business in Fordham for the past 16 years and my aunt and uncle have operated their store for over 40 years. Like many businesses on June 1st during the Fordham riots, our stores were looted, emptied, vandalized, and destroyed. As immigrants that built our lives here, our livelihood was taken away in one night. <br /><br />We ask first that everyone please be safe for us and any and all donations will be used to rebuild our businesses, medical expenses, and pay back our customers whose items were stolen that night. We are navigating the world of police reports, a totalled car, an unclear insurance situation, and losing the vast majority of our inventory. We greatly appreciate the generosity. <br /><br />Our story from that night..<br /><br />We were stuck trying to securely close the store but looters came in hordes and forced open our store gate and flooded in. We tried to get out. We tried to keep important items safe. But they saw. As we tried to get into our car, they attacked us. They smashed our windows. They attacked with crowbars, pipes, and bricks. They pulled my mom from the car. As my boyfriend Chao held onto her, they broke her leg. My jewelry, shoes, and phone were torn from me as they pulled me out from the trunk of the car while Chao tried to hold me in. My dad tried to fight them off and when we were finally able to drive away, they followed us. They got into their cars and tried to ram us off the road. We sped towards the police barricade and as the police surrounded us the looters drove away.<br /><br />Black lives matter. Black communities matter. This movement matters. These protests matter. We need to bring justice to the lives lost and healing to the communities. The Fordham community needs healing now. Please support the families and businesses that have been affected. #SaveNYCChinatown: Dumplings Against Hate

<p>The Ozone Park Residents Block Association has decided to take matters into our own hands. We are placing cameras in problem-prone locations and allow those areas to be live for everyone to see. <br />The location is 86 street and 101 ave where we have seen a recent increase in crime,  homelessness and safety issues that we feel need to be addressed. we recently had the city remove a sexual predator that they placed in that shelter.  Now we want the entire area to be outfitted with cameras that will allow us and the NYPD to monitor the area 24/7 to keep our residents safe. <br /><br />We have posted the invoice on our facebook page and the funds are used solely and exclusively for the system. The internet and the usage is donated by the store owner of BJ's Deli 86-02 101 ave Ozone Park NY 11416.
