Hi, I’m Julie.
I’m a mom, a mental health advocate, and someone who has lived through more loss than most people ever should. After losing my 15-year-old daughter, Caylee, to suicide, I knew I couldn’t stay silent about what so many families are going through behind closed doors.
I’m raising funds to support Be the Light—a community-driven event centered on connection, awareness, fun, and creating safe spaces for people, especially teens, who are struggling.
This August 2026 will be our second annual Be the Light event.
What started as something deeply personal is becoming something bigger—a place where people can come as they are, feel seen, and not feel alone.
Funds raised will go toward:
-organizing and expanding the Be the Light event
-creating meaningful experiences for teens and families
-providing activities, music, food, and connection-focused spaces
-building resources that promote mental health awareness and real support
This is about more than one day.
It’s about showing up for each other.
If you feel called to support, share, or simply follow along—thank you. Truly.
We don’t need more silence.
We need more light.
Long Live Caylee Mastin
