<div>In August 2024, we received the kind of news no family ever wants to hear—my dad, Michael Head, was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Not only was it cancer, but it had already advanced beyond the early stages. From the very beginning, Dad made a brave and personal decision to fight this disease differently. He chose not to go the conventional route of chemotherapy or radiation, but instead embraced a holistic approach—radically changing his lifestyle, his diet, his mindset, believing his body can heal itself if given the right things. In the process, he has lost over 100 pounds and has shown strength and determination that inspires us all.

<div>Now, eight months later, the journey is not over. Recent scans have shown that the cancer is still aggressive, and he needs more intensive and targeted treatments. The most promising option is to get him to Hope for Cancer in Mexico—a center known for its advanced integrative therapies. But the cost is high—around $50,000. Until we can get him there, many treatments can be done locally in Dallas, such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy, targeted IV infusions, and other holistic protocols. These treatments are critical—but insurance doesn’t cover them, and we’re now at a point where their financial resources are depleted and credit cards are maxed out.

<div>As if this fight wasn’t hard enough, my dad recently underwent emergency surgery due to severe spinal degeneration that almost left him paralyzed. He’s currently in a rehab hospital, working hard to recover his mobility. Over the past year, he hasn’t been able to work much, and for the last six weeks, my Bonus Mama Lisa has been his full-time caregiver. The toll—physically, emotionally, and financially—has been immense.

<div>Yet through it all, Michael remains strong in spirit. His unshakable faith in God, his warrior heart, and  unwavering positivity continue to light the way. We believe God is doing a healing miracle in Michael.  And we believe in the power of community -- we know it takes a village and we are calling on ours now.

<div>This is not something we ever imagined asking for, but the reality is… the costs associated with all the treatments needed, along with other expenses, are piling up quickly! So we are humbly calling on our friends and family to come along side us to help ensure Michael gets the care he needs without the added stress and financial worries.
