An Update on My Sister’s Cancer Journey I wanted to take a moment to update everyone who has followed my sister’s journey, prayed for her, checked on our family, shared her story, or contributed to her GoFundMe. Unfortunately, her cancer journey has taken a heartbreaking turn. After everything she has endured, she is now receiving hospice care. At this point, our focus is no longer on fighting for another treatment or searching for the next option. Our focus is on keeping her comfortable, surrounding her with love, and making sure she knows just how deeply she is loved. Hospice has given us the opportunity to focus on her quality of life and to be present with her during this incredibly difficult chapter. There are moments that are peaceful, moments that are painful, and moments that are simply hard to put into words. As her family, we are trying to take everything one day and sometimes one moment at a time. This has been an emotional and overwhelming journey for all of us. Cancer doesn’t only affect the person diagnosed; it changes the entire family. There are expenses, responsibilities, caregiving needs, and countless things that have to be managed while we try to process what is happening.
