Dear LGBTQI+ community and allies, we need your help! We met L. through our collective on Lesvos Island, Greece. She is a person with a contagious energy and remarkable strength of character, long time member of our collective, Lesvos LGBTIQ+ Refugee Solidarity. We need urgently to help her to pay the school fees for her children in Cameroon, the first payment should be done by 15th of August. She had an accident at work and now she doesn’t know how to collect the money on time . L. was forced to leave her country where she was violently persecuted for being lesbian, she is mother of three children who remain in Cameroon, whom she supports working hard from a distance while living in Greece, where she was recently given asylum. L. was working hard to earn money for herself and her children in a bar here in Lesvos, after about a year waiting for her documents she was finally happy, she got a job and she begun after long time to be optimistic about her future, but suddenly a work accident affected her back and the doctors told her she must stop working and lie in bed for minimum two weeks and now she fears she will not be able to earn enough money to pay her children school fees. This is a major source of stress, compounded by the distance from her children and her personal situation as a refugee in Greece. Let's help her by showing our solidarity can make a change! If you are able to share this fundraiser or contribute at any level, even a small amount would help a lot! Thank you for reading, and thank you for your support!
