My name is Jasmine, and I am the proud mother of Leilani, a dedicated young athlete whose hard work, determination, and love for running have led her to qualify for the AAU Junior Olympics in the 800m and 1500m. Leilani is only nine years old, but she has already learned lessons that many adults spend a lifetime trying to master: perseverance, discipline, resilience, and believing in herself. What started as a simple love for running has grown into a passion that drives her to wake up early for training, push through difficult workouts, and continue striving to become the best version of herself both on and off the track. As her mother, I have had the privilege of watching her grow not only as an athlete but as a person. Running has taught her confidence, responsibility, sportsmanship, and how to overcome challenges. She has learned that success doesn’t come from talent alone—it comes from consistent effort, dedication, and a willingness to keep going even when things get tough.
Qualifying for the AAU Junior Olympics is a tremendous accomplishment and a dream come true for Leilani. This opportunity allows her to compete alongside some of the nation’s best young athletes while representing her community, her team, and everyone who has supported her journey. However, traveling to and participating in the Junior Olympics comes with expenses including registration fees, travel, lodging, meals, and competition costs. We are reaching out to family, friends, and supporters to help make this experience possible. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help bring Leilani one step closer to achieving her dream. If you are unable to donate, sharing her story and cheering her on means just as much to our family. Thank you for believing in Leilani and investing in the dreams of a young athlete who works hard every day to chase her goals. Your support means more than words can express, and we are incredibly grateful to have such an amazing community behind her. With gratitude, Jasmine Mitchell Proud Mom of Leilani
