UPDATE: Everlee is Free!<br />Hello everyone we have some incredible news to share: Everlee is finally free and back home! After 73 days in ICE detention, she was released and has safely returned to her family. We want to extend a massive, heartfelt thank you to every single person who donated, shared, and supported us. Because of your initial generosity, her legal fees were covered, her travel home was paid for, and her bills were kept current during her time away. We are profoundly grateful for this community. <br /><br />Now that Everlee is safe, she is focused on rebuilding. Unfortunately, she lost her job during her 73 days in detention, meaning she is essentially starting over. However, true to her resilient nature, she is already taking major steps. She is actively interviewing and looking to get back into welding. She is attending therapy to process the trauma and mental toll of her detention. <br />While Everlee is highly motivated and already securing interviews, the hiring process and medical care for her recovery take time. We are keeping this fundraiser open for anyone who wishes to support her transition back into the life. Contributions will strictly help bridge the gap for her basic living expenses and therapy costs over the next few weeks. <br /><br />Whether you choose to donate or simply share this update, your continued support as she stands back up on her feet means the world to us. Thank you all for being part of Everlee’s journey❤️

Help Everlee Adapt to Life Again

<div>If you are lucky enough to know the Howards- you know the kindness, love, and support they give to everyone they come in contact with.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It’s our turn to support and love them back through this horrific time. Pat Howard tragically passed away and their family is forever affected by the shooting at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Michigan on September 28, 2025.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>All funds will go directly to their family to help with funeral expenses and ongoing living expenses of his wife who survived the event.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It’s not about the amount you can donate. It’s about doing what you can and showing up with love and unity.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you can’t afford to donate- do something nice for your neighbor, tell
</div>
<div>someone you love them, be the person you want your neighbor to be.

Support the Howards After Tragic Grand Blanc Michigan Loss

<div>Our hearts are broken for the Suiter family, who have experienced an unimaginable tragedy. Earlier this month, they lost their beloved son, who took his own life on May 7th and now, just weeks later, their father Christopher Suiter has passed away in a fatal car accident going southbound on I-15 in Payson, UT on May 27th, 2025. It was not his fault, and they say he died on impact when another car going northbound lost control, crossed the median and hit him head on in his jeep.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Two heartbreaking losses in such a short time is more than any family should ever have to endure. There is no life insurance, leaving the family to cover all funeral expenses out of pocket.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>We are coming together to support the Suiters in this time of overwhelming grief. All funds raised will go directly toward funeral costs and easing the financial burden on this grieving family.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Please consider donating if you are able, and share this campaign with others who may want to help. Most of all, keep the Suiter family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this incredibly painful time.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Christopher Suiter will be greatly missed. We know He is home with Jesus and his son Brian.

Community Support Needed After Payson I-15 Tragedy

<div><strong>Help Sebastian Walk Again and Rebuild His Life</strong>
</div>
<div><strong>Goal: $31,696</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>A Story of Resilience and Hope</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong><em>Imagine losing your leg in a boating accident as a child in a remote fishing village in the South Pacific. Then, against the odds, you push through to earn a college degree in the U.S., survive colon cancer as an adult, and still hold fast to a dream—not just to rebuild your own life, but to uplift others. </em> </strong>
</div>
<div><strong> This is Sebastian Alewa!</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div><img class="text-editor_textEditorImage__43_GE" alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/91104813_1747800738153886_r." width="100%" />
<div>                                   Sebastian before the accident.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Sebastian is an extraordinary man from Papua New Guinea. As a child growing up in a small fishing village, he lost his leg below the knee in a tragic boating accident when it was struck by a propeller. Despite this life-altering injury, he pursued his education and eventually earned a college degree in the United States—where two of his children were born.
</div><img class="text-editor_textEditorImage__43_GE" alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/91104813_1747800775631932_r." width="100%" />
<div>                                      Sebastian’s graduation day
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>After completing his studies, he returned to Papua New Guinea and taught agriculture for five years. But due to a bureaucratic error, his U.S.-born children were declared to be undocumented aliens and he was assessed large fines. Fearing family separation, Sebastian and his family returned to the U.S. in search of legal clarity and safety.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>While in the U.S., Sebastian received devastating news: he had colon cancer.
</div><img class="text-editor_textEditorImage__43_GE" alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/91104813_1747800806548532_r." width="100%" />
<div> Sebastian with family following surgery
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thanks to the incredible generosity of neighbors who covered the entire cost of surgery, he survived and is now undergoing chemotherapy to prevent a recurrence. Despite all he’s been through—disability, illness, legal uncertainty—Sebastian remains focused on building a future not just for his own family, but for others as well.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>What Does Sebastian Need?</strong>
</div>
<div>Sebastian now faces two urgent challenges:
</div>
<ul>
<li><strong>He needs a new prosthetic leg.</strong> His current one, which he has used for many years, is obsolete and no longer functional. A durable, custom-fitted replacement is essential for his mobility, dignity, and ability to work.
</li>
<li><strong>He must return to Papua New Guinea.</strong> Due to immigration limitations, Sebastian is no longer legally able to stay in the U.S. He is deeply grateful his cancer was discovered while he was here—in his remote village, it likely would have been a death sentence. Now he must go home, resolve the legal issues related to his children's citizenship status, and start over again.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>A Vision Beyond Survival</strong>
</div>
<div>As Sebastian returns to PNG, he plans to launch a sustainable pig farming project to help smallholder farmers improve food security and build stable incomes. He will teach them how to transform sweet potato vines that are currently being discarded into usable feed, and introduce modern techniques and improved breeds. Eventually he plans to donate starter piglets to other families in his village.
</div>
<div><br />
</div><img class="text-editor_textEditorImage__43_GE" alt="" media_type="3" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/91104813_1747800851792956_r." width="100%" />
<div>                                    Typical rudimentary pig pen.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>While <strong>this campaign does not seek funding for the farming project</strong>, we believe it's important to share Sebastian's long-term vision. It reflects his deep commitment to helping others build self-reliance—just as he is striving to do for his own family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>How You Can Help</strong>
</div>
<div>We are raising $31,696 to address his immediate needs:
</div>
<ul>
<li>$15,779 for a durable, custom prosthetic leg designed to withstand the physical demands of rural life.
</li>
<li>$10,000 for airfare and meals for Sebastian’s family of seven to return home to PNG ($1,315 per person; ~48-hour journey)
</li>
<li>$4,917 to pay fines in PNG and correct his children’s citizenship status
</li>
<li>$1,000 for relocation support and temporary family assistance
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Sebastian has faced physical loss, economic hardship, forced displacement, and life-threatening illness—but he has never stopped working toward a better future. Your donation will give him the ability to walk again, return home with dignity, and begin building a new life of purpose.
</div>

<div>With gratitude,

Help Sebastian Walk Again and Lift His Native Community

<div>Hello, I am Taylor Tovey, and I set up this GoFundMe for my brother-in-law, Elijah Bustamante-Martínez, with help from my wife, Destiny Tovey, his oldest sister. The money will be transferred to his grandmother, Gloria Costello, and will be used to pay for Elijah’s funeral expenses.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are devastated to share the heartbreaking loss of Elijah Bustamante-Martínez, a remarkable 16-year-old student at Hillcrest High School whose light touched countless lives. Elijah was an extraordinary young man, fearless, compassionate, and full of ambition. He never hesitated to stand at the pulpit in church, sharing his faith and inspiring everyone around him.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Elijah’s recent achievements speak to his incredible spirit and drive: he ran for SBO Officer at Hillcrest High School, spoke at the BYU writing conference, and was invited to serve as an AP Camp Leader for the church this year. He also served on the Youth Council for the Midvale Mayor’s Office, showing his dedication to making a difference in his community. Elijah dreamed of attending the University of Utah and Harvard, serving a full-time mission, and joining the military, dreams that were taken from him far too soon. One of his most profound and personal achievements was baptizing his own mother into the LDS church, a testament to his unwavering faith and the powerful impact he had on those closest to him.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>More than his achievements, Elijah was known for his golden personality and unwavering kindness. He had a special gift for making people feel loved and understood. He wasn’t just a brother or a son, he was a best friend, a role model, and a source of comfort and strength to those around him. Every weekend, he stayed over with his sister Destiny Tovey and brother-in-law Taylor Tovey, creating cherished memories of heart-to-heart talks and laughter.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our family is shattered by this unimaginable loss, especially his sister Destiny, who took Elijah everywhere she went and loved him like her own child. The pain of losing him feels unreal, a heartache none of us were prepared for.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Elijah leaves behind a family who adored him:
</div>
<div>Benoni Bustamante (Brother)
</div>
<div>Ashton Bustamante (Brother)
</div>
<div>Nehemiah Bustamante (Sister)
</div>
<div>Unique Vanekelenburg (Sister)
</div>
<div>Dominique Martinez (Sister)
</div>
<div>Destiny Tovey (Sister)
</div>
<div>Jennifer Bustamante (Mother)
</div>
<div>Clem Martínez (Father)
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are asking for support to give Elijah the funeral and memorial he deserves, a celebration of his life, his faith, and the profound impact he made on this world. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help ease the financial burden on our family during this devastating time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for your kindness, love, and support. We are forever grateful for any help you can provide to honor Elijah’s beautiful soul.
</div>

Support Elijah's Funeral: A Life Gone Too Soon

<div>This GoFundMe is in support of the family of Brian Daems, a wonderful father, husband, friend, and gifted pilot. He passed away tragically and unexpectedly this past Friday, December 6th. Brian loved nothing more than his wonderful family, his wife and college sweetheart Lisa, their three children Matthew (17), Abigail (21), and Lindsey Reid (25) along with her husband, Daniel Reid. We would love to help alleviate some of the family’s financial burdens associated with the loss of their father and husband.

<div>We are deeply saddened to share the devastating news of Jaime's untimely passing in a tragic plane crash alongside her boyfriend. Jaime leaves behind three children – two devoted sons who were on missions, and a beloved daughter who is married with two babies. As her family grieves this unimaginable loss, they are faced with the overwhelming burden of funeral expenses. We kindly ask for your support in contributing to this GoFundMe, as we aim to ease their financial strain during this difficult time and provide Jaime with the dignified farewell she deserves. Your generosity will be a beacon of hope and comfort to the grieving family, and any assistance, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated. Let's come together to honor Jaime's memory and help her children through this challenging time.

</div>
<div>All the funds will be sent to Mckenzy Potter, Jaime's oldest daughter. Thank you for your support!

<div>November 30th, 2022, Creed Leonard was struck by a car in a crosswalk while serving in the Boston, Massachusetts - Spanish-speaking mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Creed was thrown and suffered severe damage upon impact to the left side of his brain. Within an hour of being struck, Creed was on the operating table at Massachusetts General Hospital where doctors repaired bleeding from a skull fracture and also had to remove a large portion of the left side of his skull to repair additional bleeding and allow room for brain swelling.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It is a testament to the miraculous and immediate response of first responders and doctors that Creed survived those first few fragile days and weeks.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Completely unresponsive for 21 days in the ICU, Creed’s eyes finally began to open and his left hand and leg began to move. His right side did not move. He could not talk or interact with others as the damage to the left side of the brain not only controls speech and communication but is also responsible for controlling the right side of his body.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In the middle of January, doctors thought it best to replace and rebuild Creed’s skull in the hope that having the brain encased would help with the healing. Creed does have a device or a shunt in his head that allows excess fluid to be removed from around his brain. The shunt will be a permanent fixture in his brain and may need additional adjusting throughout his life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The trauma to his brain was severe and even today’s CT scan (2/8/23), some two and a half months later, still identified bruising and swelling on his brain that needs to heal.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Brain injuries require a lot of patience, time and therapy. They are not sure if Creed can read, or how the injury has affected his memories, as he is often not sure of his surroundings. Creed will have to learn how to use a toothbrush, comb, speak, eat, and walk. In short, Creed has to relearn everything for daily living and therapy is essential in this relearning process. Doctors are hopeful that Creed will walk within a year with extensive therapy.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Creed’s therapy will be extensive, including occupational therapy that focuses on activities of daily living; musical therapy to focus on his ability to talk and relearn creativity; speech therapy to help him formulate words, eat and socially communicate; and physical therapy to help strengthen his muscles and to help his right side become functional again.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>His mother and siblings, who have been right beside Creed from the day of his accident, will need to remain in Boston until Creed is strong enough and healed enough to return to Utah. They will continue renting an apartment in downtown Boston where Creed is located. His father needs to remain in St. George to work but will be traveling to Boston often to be with the family. These extra living and traveling expenses will create financial strains on the family at a time when they need to be focused on Creed and one another.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As they move forward, it is clear that Creed will need continuous therapy for years to come. Potential items such as wheelchairs, walkers, a therapy bed, and numerous medical equipment items that they have not even learned about yet. They may also need physical adjustments to their home and a vehicle that will provide Creed with the necessary accommodations.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It's not easy to ask for help and Marla and Chad have been grateful for the outpouring of love but hesitant to ask for financial help. They will need it and they need it now. Let's show them and Creed that they aren't alone in this. They will greatly appreciate any help that is provided. Thank you for your donation.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>You can follow updates on Creed's progress on Facebook at the page "Messages for Creed"

<div>"Lake Restoration Solutions," the developers who are proposing to dredge Utah Lake, create man-made islands over 1/5th of it, and then build housing on those islands, have run up against some formidable adversaries, including BYU professor, Ben Abbott. Abbott is an expert on Utah Lake, having studied it extensively for many years. Along with hundreds of local conservationists, scientists, engineers, natural resource managers, recreation managers and environmental lawyers, Abbott has been speaking out against the proposal, and with convincing expertise, has been contradicting Utah Lake Solutions' claims about health and well-being of the lake.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Now, "Lake Restoration Solutions" is suing Abbott for $3 million, claiming defamation, false light, and intentional interference with prospective economic relations. The legal action constitutes a "SLAPP" suit -- "Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation." Utah law allows Abbott to file an "anti-SLAPP" suit against the company, but he will need some financial help to do so. We should help him.

For Arthur VanWagenen and family

Our dear friend Dylan Thornton was in a fatal car accident this morning 9/12/2017. We are all completely shocked and deeply heartbroken with hearing this news. There is not one person Dylan met that he didnt make laugh or smile and hold him dear to their hearts. We want to create this fund for his funeral and to ease any financial burden for his beautiful wife Emily Thornton and their precious son, Cooper and his sweet parents and siblings - Cheryl, Ernie and Anita, Kesley and Murray, and all of his family. Dylan and Emily adopted the most precious baby boy Cooper last year. The money raised from this fundraiser will go immedaitey to Emily to cover funeral cost and ease any financial burden placed on her. Please help us lift his entire family and friends up during this excruciating time. Thank you.<br /><br /><a href="https://www.ksl.com/index.php?sid=45773204&amp;nid=148&amp;title=middle-school-teacher-killed-in-7-car-crash-on-i-15" target="_blank"><a href="https://www.ksl.com/index.php?sid=45773204&amp;nid=148&amp;title=middle-school-teacher-killed-in-7-car-crash-on-i-15" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.ksl.com/index.php?sid=45773204&amp;nid=148&amp;title=middle-school-teacher-killed-in-7-car-crash-on-i-15</a></a>
