My name is Lawanda, and I’m reaching out to share the story of my nephew, Jayden Preston. Jayden is a remarkable young man who, after enduring significant health struggles, continues to face life-threatening challenges in the hope of a better future. In August 2024, just weeks before his 16th birthday, Jayden, along with his siblings, tragically lost their mother, Felicia Bevel, to a sudden and devastating stroke. Felicia was an unwavering advocate for Jayden’s health, always ensuring he had access to the best medical care possible. Now, in the wake of her loss, Jayden’s journey continues, and we are seeking your help to support him as he faces his most challenging obstacle yet: a kidney transplant. Jayden was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome at just eight years old, a serious condition that affects his kidneys and has led to multiple hospitalizations over the years. Despite enduring so much, Jayden remains hopeful. He battles through dialysis three times a week, enduring pain and fatigue, but his determination never wavers. In addition to his kidney issues, Jayden is in need of dental surgery, which must be done under anesthesia due to the complexity of his condition. Unfortunately, he has been waiting for almost a year for approval from his insurance company, but there has been no progress. As you can imagine, Jayden’s medical costs are overwhelming. His kidney transplant is dependent on completing the necessary dental surgery, which will allow him to get on the transplant list. We are reaching out to compassionate individuals like you who can help us raise funds to cover the cost of these crucial medical procedures. Our goal is simple: to give Jayden the opportunity to experience life as a normal teenager, something he’s longed for throughout his battle with illness. After his transplant, Jayden’s dream is to do something many of us take for granted: to go swimming for the first time in his life.
