My precious cousin, Lavender is one of 11 kids. Recently, she was receiving help for her eating disorder when, on February 27th, she was rushed to Duke University Hospital in Durham, where doctors discovered her colon had twisted on itself and begun to die. She underwent emergency surgery to remove the majority of her colon, and she’s been in the ICU ever since. Lavender is now facing an incredibly tough recovery. She’s learning how to do basic things for herself again, including walking, and is also fighting an infection along her surgical incision. The road ahead is long and uncertain, but Lavender’s strength and determination inspire everyone around her. Any money donated will go directly toward Lavender’s medical bills, living expenses, and, hopefully, her return to treatment at the Emily Program. Our family is so grateful for any support—whether it’s a donation or simply sharing her story. Thank you for helping Lavender on her journey to healing.
