Hello friends and supporters, I never imagined needing to create this fundraiser, but after the last few months, we truly need help to get through this moment. I’m a single mom to Ava and the sole caregiver and financial support for our animal sanctuary. Until recently, I’ve managed to cover everything on my own — but a serious medical crisis changed that. After months of unexplained fevers, I was diagnosed with typhoid. Shortly after, Ava became ill with influenza, and then I did as well. My illness progressed into pneumonia, and my left lung collapsed. I should have been hospitalized, but I couldn’t afford admission or leave my child and the animals. All medical care and testing were paid fully out of pocket. Thankfully, my lung has reopened and I’m finally feeling better, though there is permanent scarring and ongoing risk. I’m incredibly grateful to be recovering — but financially, everything has been drained. Why we need help right now The sanctuary is entirely self-funded, and I’m currently behind on basic expenses. I’m especially concerned about losing our feed and grass suppliers, which would be devastating for the animals and extremely difficult to recover from. Our immediate and specific needs Urgent need: $250 USD to keep our grass supplier paid Total goal for this month: $2,000 USD to cover essential expenses, including: Grass for cows and horses Pellets, rice bran, and animal feed Electricity Food Scooter rental and basic transport This fundraiser is intended as a short-term bridge to stabilize us after a medical emergency — not ongoing support. I’m happy to share a full breakdown of expenses with anyone who would like more details. If you’re able to contribute in any amount, or even share this fundraiser, it would mean more than I can put into words. Thank you for standing with us during a very difficult season. With deep gratitude, Lauren & Ava
From California to Kuta: Help Us Build a Kinder World Through Nature-Based Education Hello friends, family, and compassionate supporters around the world, We’re Bindi Farms — and we recently followed a calling that changed everything. We packed up our lives in California, left everything familiar behind, and moved to Kuta, Lombok with four suitcases and one clear purpose: to be of service. Why? Because a kinder world isn’t just possible — it’s urgent. And it begins with how we care for the Earth, for animals, and for each other. We are building a nonprofit sanctuary and nature-based educational program rooted in compassion, sustainability, and connection — to nurture the next generation of kind, conscious humans. ✨ Big News: We’ve secured a long-term land partner with space and resources to grow our programs, and we’re collaborating with a well-established nature-based school serving both local and international students. This allows our curriculum to integrate directly into an already thriving educational ecosystem. Our Mission We live in a time of disconnection — from each other, from nature, and from ourselves. Our antidote is simple: Connection through nature. Learning through experience. Growing through kindness. We’re creating a space where children (and eventually adults) can: Learn in and from nature Practice mindfulness and emotional intelligence Understand sustainability and global responsibility Build empathy, curiosity, and community Participate in kindness- and Earth-focused events Collaborate with local schools and families By teaching children to love the Earth, know themselves, and care for others, we are raising the next generation of changemakers. Programs & Impact Our hands-on programs bring education to life — with rescued animals incorporated into learning experiences: Therapeutic Horse Riding for children and adults Animal Care & Wildlife Rehabilitation programs Permaculture & Regenerative Farming for sustainability and food security Nature-Based Education & Workshops for children of all backgrounds Jane Goodall Institute “Roots & Shoots” Curriculum woven into all programs Skill-Building Programs empowering local families through agriculture, animal care, and eco-entrepreneurship Safe, Loving Spaces for personal growth, healing, and community building Why Kuta, Lombok Lombok is breathtakingly beautiful, but its communities face challenges: poverty, limited access to resources, and environmental strain. Our approach is collaborative — we learn from local wisdom, co-create programs that uplift, and respect culture, tradition, and nature. What We’ve Achieved We’ve built this nonprofit from the ground up with no big grants or backing, just heart, grit, and dedication: ✔️ Relocated and immersed ourselves in the community ✔️ Secured land for long-term lease through our new partnership ✔️ Formed an educational partnership with an established nature-based school ✔️ Cleared and fenced areas for rescue animals, including a riding arena ✔️ Rescued 68 animals — horses, cows, ducks, chickens, dogs, lizards, owls, otters and more ✔️ Begun building relationships with local families and businesses ✔️ Secured collaboration with a local foundation for long-term eco heroes village programs ✔️ Networked with other nonprofits and NGOs for future projects ✔️ Started planning programs with sustainability at the core Why It Matters A kinder world is possible — and it starts with how we raise and educate our young people. Every dollar makes a difference. Your support helps: A child experience healing and growth through nature and animals A local family grow food and build sustainable income Animals find safety, care, and purpose A new model of learning and living take root in a community that needs it “You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” Dr. Jane Goodall (1934-2025) About Us Meet Mama Lauren and her spirited 9-year-old daughter, Ava. Originally from the sun-kissed Central Coast of California, they’ve always lived close to the land and their values. Together, they nurtured Bindi Farms, a small-scale raw dairy devoted to pioneering animal-welfare practices and offering nourishing, healing foods that brought resilience and connection to their community. Lauren’s life has always been intertwined with animals — she’s a seasoned veterinary nurse, an experienced horse shoer with 15 years under her belt, and the driving force behind several animal-welfare initiatives. From leading a large-scale horse rescue in Colorado for slaughter-bound horses to creating rehabilitation programs for “death row” dogs in urban shelters, her work has been a beacon of compassion and second chances. Ava is as brave as she is curious. Now enrolled in school in Kuta, Lombok, she’s thriving — building friendships, diving into adventures, and embracing the beauty of island life. Together, Lauren and Ava continue writing their story — one of courage, care, and a deep devotion to animals and community. Thank You for joining us in this commitment to a kinder world ❤️ Lauren and Ava Mrozowski Founders, Bindi Farms Kuta, Lombok https://www.facebook.com/BindiFarmsSY?mibextid=wwXIfr https://www.instagram.com/bindi_farms?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==&utm_source=qr Initial Fundraising goals (Itemized cost breakdown) $52,000 USD ($79,000 AUD/870 million IDR) Priority items : 1.)Finish legal setup fees, formalization of Indonesian nonprofit allowing us to be fully operational. 67 million IDR/$4,028 USD/$6,124 AUD) 2.)Rainy season shelters - 4 total (horses and cows) 20 million IDR/$1,200 USD/$1,824 AUD) 3.)
