What Lauren cares about

My life has always been intertwined with animals, and I hope that my work will set an example for a compassionate world and giving second chances.

Hello friends and supporters, I never imagined needing to create this fundraiser, but after the last few months, we truly need help to get through this moment. I’m a single mom to Ava and the sole caregiver and financial support for our animal sanctuary. Until recently, I’ve managed to cover everything on my own — but a serious medical crisis changed that. After months of unexplained fevers, I was diagnosed with typhoid. Shortly after, Ava became ill with influenza, and then I did as well. My illness progressed into pneumonia, and my left lung collapsed. I should have been hospitalized, but I couldn’t afford admission or leave my child and the animals. All medical care and testing were paid fully out of pocket. Thankfully, my lung has reopened and I’m finally feeling better, though there is permanent scarring and ongoing risk. I’m incredibly grateful to be recovering — but financially, everything has been drained. Why we need help right now The sanctuary is entirely self-funded, and I’m currently behind on basic expenses. I’m especially concerned about losing our feed and grass suppliers, which would be devastating for the animals and extremely difficult to recover from. Our immediate and specific needs Urgent need: $250 USD to keep our grass supplier paid Total goal for this month: $2,000 USD to cover essential expenses, including: Grass for cows and horses Pellets, rice bran, and animal feed Electricity Food Scooter rental and basic transport This fundraiser is intended as a short-term bridge to stabilize us after a medical emergency — not ongoing support. I’m happy to share a full breakdown of expenses with anyone who would like more details. If you’re able to contribute in any amount, or even share this fundraiser, it would mean more than I can put into words. Thank you for standing with us during a very difficult season. With deep gratitude, Lauren & Ava
Save Our Sanctuary: Urgent Land Lease Renewal Needed Hello friends, family, and supporters, We’re reaching out with a time-sensitive need to keep Bindi Farms going. ⏳ We need to raise 240 million IDR (~$14,000 USD) by April 1 to renew our sanctuary land lease for the next two years. What’s Happening We’ve been actively exploring long-term land partnership opportunities to grow and expand our programs. While those conversations are ongoing, we have not secured an alternative space before our current lease renewal deadline — which means we must now renew our existing land to continue operating. What’s at Stake This land is home to everything we’ve built: • 68 rescued animals • A growing nature-based education program • A space for community, healing, and sustainability If we lose this space, we lose the foundation of all of it. What We’ve Built Together With no outside funding — and with the help of this community — we have: ✔️ Relocated our lives to Lombok to be of service ✔️ Rescued and care for 68 animals ✔️ Built fencing, enclosures, stables, and rainy-season shelters ✔️ Created a riding arena and safe sanctuary space ✔️ Partnered with an established nature-based school to expand programs ✔️ Begun developing education and sustainability initiatives Everything we’ve created depends on this land. Why It Matters Bindi Farms is more than a sanctuary. It’s a place where: • Children learn empathy through animals • Families gain tools for sustainable living • Rescued animals find safety and purpose This is how we begin to build a kinder, more connected world. Please Help Us Save Our Sanctuary Goal: 240 million IDR (~$14,000 USD) Deadline: April 1 If you feel called to support, now is the moment. This is a time-sensitive need, and every contribution — no matter the size — directly helps us secure this land, protect the animals, and continue growing this space for the community. If you’re not able to donate, sharing this with others can truly make a difference. If 280 people give just $50, we reach our goal — please be one of them. About Us We’re Bindi Farms — a mother and daughter who left our lives in California to follow a calling to serve through animals, nature, and community. What started as a leap of faith with four suitcases has grown into a sanctuary for rescued animals and a developing nature-based education program in Lombok. Alongside our partnership with a local nature-based school, we are working to expand opportunities for children to learn compassion, sustainability, and connection through hands-on experiences. We’ve poured everything we have — including our life savings — into building this space, with the belief that small, intentional work can create meaningful change. ✨ With your help, this is not where the story ends — it’s where it continues. With love and deep gratitude, Lauren & Ava Bindi Farms, Lombok
