<div>Sa vie a pris un tournant que pratiquement personne sur cette terre ne pourra comprendre. Bien sûr, on dira qu'elle a eu la chance de s'en sortir avec des blessures physiques qui se résorberont presque entièrement, mais nous ne devons pas sous-estimer les blessures psychologiques que cet événement laissera pour le reste de sa vie.

<div>Nous connaissons cette femme. Une femme positive, souriante, à l'écoute, rigoureuse, mais surtout résiliente. De belles qualités dont elle partageait avec son partenaire Momo, soit la raison de leur duo de feu.

<div>Garder son sang-froid comme elle l'a fait lorsqu'elle a vu son partenaire et ami s'effondrer au sol, appliquer les techniques enseignées en formation malgré le chaos et l'atmosphère hystérique, nous démontre qu'elle était à cent pour cent fait pour ce métier.

<div>Bien que l'événement soit tragique, nous sommes heureux et soulagés de constater que ses actions ont contribué à atténuer les conséquences qui auraient pu survenir sans sa présence.

<div>In this intervention, we talk about two deceased victims, but in reality, we forget a third. This policewoman who, too, will never be the same again.

<div>His life has taken a turn that almost no one on this earth will be able to understand. Of course, we will say that she was lucky enough to get away with physical injuries that will almost completely resolve, but we must not underestimate the psychological injuries that this event will leave for the rest of her life.

<div>We know this woman. A positive, smiling, attentive, rigorous, but above all resilient woman. Beautiful qualities that she shared with her partner Momo, which is the reason for their fiery duo.

<div>Keeping her cool as she did when she saw her partner and friend collapse to the ground, applying the techniques taught in training despite the chaos and hysterical atmosphere, shows us that she was one hundred percent made for this job.

<div>Although the event is tragic, we are happy and relieved to see that his actions helped mitigate the consequences that could have occurred without his presence.
</div>

<div>We are coming together to raise funds for Constable Marc Lauzon, who was critically injured in the line of duty during a shooting incident almost two years ago. While the incident may seem like a memory to some, for Marc and his family, the effects are still painfully present and will be for the rest of his life.
</div>
<div>It’s difficult to paint the full picture in words, but the reality is, Marc suffers daily with his injuries. He has received multiple surgeries to repair his injuries which have deeply reduced his quality of life. He continues to require multiple surgeries to his arm, has two bullets still lodged in his body, and debilitating pain to his stomach, hips and knees. Marc requires pain medication daily to complete simple tasks such as walking.

<div>Despite his hopes and plans to return to work, Marc has had to come to the heartbreaking reality that his life-altering injuries will prevent him from performing the duties he once carried out with pride. Consequently, comes the financial loss of the overtime income that he built his life and family around.
</div>
<div>Marc survived the incident however the truth is, he is still paying the ultimate price. Unfortunately, there is no additional compensation to cover the extra income he earned through overtime to meet the needs of his family.
</div>
<div>We want to lift the financial burden off Marc, his loving wife Patricia, and their daughters Élize and Kloé, to allow him the freedom to enjoy life without the constant weight of financial stress.
</div>
<div>This is an opportunity to show Marc what it truly means to be a part of a police family and community, that no one is left behind.
</div>

<div>This terrific family space was horrifically vandalized and suffered extensive damages due to a cowardly act of targeted arson the week of May 1st, 2023.

<div>Words cannot describe what the damage/stress sustained has caused, as well as the disruption of the daily operations of both of these facilities.  Both of the businesses have (and operate with) business insurance, so most of the costs associated with this malicious act are covered.  The unfortunate side of it all is that there is no business interruption insurance for such instances as this.
</div>

<div>Both Mark and Nick are outstanding, classy citizens, and business owners, the bills are piling up, rent will soon be due, the staff's wages are due soon, on top of the monthly costs that come with owning a martial arts studio.  All the funds raised will go towards all of the aforementioned issues helping them front the costs until they are up and running again.

<div>As a martial artist, friend, and business owner I know how important getting the doors opened again is to both Mark and Nick, but I also know how important it is to get all of their staff paid and keep their income coming in.

<div>The interruption to their businesses is very stressful, and providing them with some financial support/relief raised through this campaign will be used to pay their staff until they are back up and running, helping them lessen the burden of this untimely and cowardly act.
