My name is Kydiah, and I am the mother of two boys. My oldest son, Ayden, was born a healthy, beautiful baby full of life, love, and promise.   At just 2 months old, everything changed. Ayden’s first hospitalization came after he suffered a traumatic brain injury due to the reckless actions of someone who was supposed to care for and nurture him. In a single moment, my son’s life and ours was turned upside down. What followed was a fight for his life. Ayden began having constant seizures, and doctors had to take extreme, life-saving measures.  At one point, my baby had to be placed into a medically induced coma as his tiny body fought to survive. I lived every parent’s worst nightmare. There was a time when doctors weren’t sure if Ayden would even make it. I sat by his side, praying, hoping, and holding on to anything that gave me hope that he would wake up. By the grace of God, he did. But our journey didn’t end there.  Now, at 12 years old, Ayden is still fighting every single day. The effects of his traumatic brain injury have never gone away. He continues to suffer from ongoing seizures and severe physical challenges. Over the years, I have had to watch my son slowly decline physically—something no mother should ever have to experience.  Today, Ayden is wheelchair-bound and requires constant care. He has never been able to eat on his own and relies on a feeding port in his stomach for nourishment. The things many children do without thinking like walking, eating, and being independent are things my son has had to live without. And still, he fights.  For years, I have done everything I can to care for Ayden while also raising his younger brother as a single mother. It has not been easy, but I have always done my best to give them both a life filled with love, support, and stability. I have worked, sacrificed, and pushed through every obstacle put in front of us. Recently, after saving for a long time, I was finally able to purchase a larger vehicle something we truly needed to safely transport Ayden to and from his medical appointments as his needs have grown. But that, too, was taken from us. The vehicle was struck and totaled by a drunk driver, leaving us once again dealing with a loss caused by someone else’s recklessness. It has been overwhelming. Even through all of this, I continue to fight for my son every single day—but I can’t do it alone anymore.  I am asking for help. Your support will go toward: Ayden’s ongoing medical care and Transportation so I can continue getting him to his appointments. Every donation helps take some of the weight off my shoulders and allows me to focus on what matters most, caring for my son. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing our story. That alone can help us more than you know. I never imagined this would be our life but I will never stop fighting for Ayden. Thank you for taking the time to read our story, for your support, and for standing with us.
