HEARTBREAKING NEWS ABOUT OUR BEAUTIFUL MILLIE AND HER BABIES
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we have to share the sad news that Millie’s babies have sadly passed away.
Sometimes, no matter how hard we try, how much love we give, or how desperately we wish we could change the outcome, life just isn’t fair.
Millie is a colony cat. She didn’t choose the life she was born into, and she certainly didn’t choose the circumstances she found herself in. When we discovered she was pregnant, we knew we needed to give her a safe place to be, somewhere she could have shelter, warmth, food, fresh water and, most importantly, love. ❤️
We wanted so desperately for this story to have a happy ending. We wanted Millie to have the chance to raise her babies somewhere safe, away from the struggles and dangers of life outdoors.
Sadly, sometimes even when we do everything within our power, it just isn't enough.
There can be many reasons why kittens don't survive. Some are born with underlying health problems or congenital abnormalities that we may never know about. Others may be premature, too weak to feed, or unable to regulate their body temperature. Infections and complications during birth can also sadly take their toll. Even with warmth, shelter and the very best care we can provide, tiny kittens are incredibly fragile, and sometimes nature is heartbreakingly cruel.
We also have to accept that, as we don't always know exactly what happened, we may never have the answers we desperately want. We can only hope that Millie and her babies were given the best chance possible under the circumstances.
There are no words that can take away the sadness of losing these tiny lives before they ever really had a chance. Every life matters to us, no matter how small, and every loss hurts deeply.
For now, our focus is on our beautiful Millie. She has been through so much, and she deserves all the care, comfort and kindness we can give her. We will continue to make sure she is safe, warm, fed and loved. She may be a colony cat, but she is not forgotten, and she never will be. ❤️
This is the heartbreaking reality of cat rescue. Behind every happy adoption and every success story, there are moments of loss, tears and wondering what more we could have done.
We step in because we care. We provide shelter, warmth, food, water and love because every life deserves a chance. But sadly, sometimes these things just aren't enough, and that is one of the hardest parts of rescue to accept.
With love from all of us at
