What they care about

Kristina is a wonderful person who gives her time and energy to helping others. She has traveled to many countries and continues to travel helping others.

I met Kristina in Mexico, she is such an amazing person. I offered to host her if she ever wanted to come to the Bay Area. She did come to visit. Unfortunately she had to be seen at the urgent care for dizziness. She never had this feeling and was very scared. They saw her treated her at the urgent care. She was stable, but they insisted she get in an ambulance and go to the emergency for further testing. All the while knowing she didn't have insurance. Well, below is her plea for your kindness and generosity. Hello to everyone My name is Kristina Fritz and thank you from my heart for taking a moment to read. My name is Kristina, I am a German woman who has spent the last few years living from my savings and sharing my hands in different developing and emerging countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. I deeply believe in the power of oneness and the goodness that still lives in humanity. My main focus has been planting new seeds of consciousness for mental and physical health, developing a healthy sense of daily nutrition, planting seeds of belief in oneself in the children, self-empowerment, awareness for/protection of our mother earth. For some places I raised funds to make sure they are at least provided with the basics like water, food and clothes. In Zambia I supported a woman and friend by paying for parts of her training in the nursery school. We are still in contact and she is now able to work. Why am I sharing this? Because I have always been in the position to help others and I did from my heart, and never in a lifetime I would have thought that I would be in the situation where I so depend on the help and goodness of others, and have to raise funds because I can't handle the situation alone. I am a humble and kind woman, for me it was never a problem to live on a very little budget those years. I am aware of how privileged we are in the western countries. So what happened? In the end of 2025, on my way from Asia back to Latin America, I decided to visit my friend in the United States for four days, and on the second day I, all in a sudden, felt very dizzy and, never having had such a case before, anxious as well. My friend, worried about me, brought me to a medical center. My state improved in that center after [...] was injected, but still the center insisted on delivering me into a hospital to get a bigger check up, while already knowing it was low blood sugar. It was almost like I wasn't given another choice, even though I shared at that point that my insurance covers every country, but not the United States. I finally spent two hours in the hospital being checked up, then I went home normally. Since then, my health has been consistently great, just as it has always been before that day. This is what happened literally, and lately I received the hospital bill saying I have to pay 27.000 dollars - for those two hours. That was just for the hospital not the ambulance or the urgent care, the imaging and the doctor. I have never been in touch with the health system of the United States before (it is probably the reason my insurance excluded the coverage of those bills). The bill shocked me so much and brought me to tears instantly. It still does every time I just think about it. That amount exceeds all the savings I have ever been able to save. It made me remember a moment in Africa when I had to see a hospital and asked at the end what I have to pay and all they replied with a kind smile was: "Nothing. We are here to help." In Africa!!! My message goes to all the good hearts out there: If you are now in the position to help me get out of this situation, I am so deeply grateful. Sincerely and gratefully, Kristina
