Kimberly Sunshine

“Hi, my name is Kimberly and I am living with incurable stage 4 cirrhosis. My health has declined to the point that I am in and out of the hospital and ICU, with seizures, heart problems, liver and kidney failure, and even a coma after my heart stopped. I take more than 13 medications just to stay alive. Most days I am in severe pain, exhausted, and even getting out of bed, walking, or handling basic tasks is difficult. Because of how sick I am, I have not been able to keep working. I am not receiving government assistance and I am facing this mostly on my own. I live alone with my emotional support cat Sushi Roll, with no nearby family to help. On top of everything, I have now received an eviction notice while trying to manage serious medical needs and frequent appointments. This fundraiser will help me cover rent so I can stay housed, buy food, get to about four doctor’s appointments a month, and keep up with medical bills that continue to pile up. It will also help with the cost of moving closer to my mother on the mainland, which is about 5,000 miles away, so I am not going through this alone. I am an artist, and creating with oil paint, acrylics, and clay is one of the few things that helps me through the hardest parts of my day, but even that has become hard to manage on my own. Your support would help me stay in my home, stay fed, and stay connected to life-saving care.
