<div>Last September, our family's lives took an unexpected turn when I had to call the ambulance for my husband. He was complaining that his heart was racing and he was feeling weak. When the ambulance arrived, his BPM was 280 a minute. On the way to the hospital, the meds they were giving him to slow his heart rate were not responding, so they had no other option than to defibrillate his heart. After several tests, the cardiologist was able to diagnose him with a rare congenital heart condition called Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome. Jesse was life-flighted into rush surgery where he underwent a 4 1/2 hour heart procedure.

<div>After a slow recovery, Jesse started noticing severe pain and weakness in both of his arms and hands, starting from his cervical spine. The pain he was experiencing was increasing from a pre-existing neck injury that he was not able to get fixed due to heart complications that we now know were congenital. My husband has been struggling with this pain for over a decade, and now he is awaiting a bi-level cervical neck fusion to prevent future nerve damage and the risk of being paralyzed. It is a complicated surgery due to his heart condition, so he will be traveling to OHSU to have the procedure done. The neurologist wants him to do 6 weeks of physical therapy to strengthen his body to prepare for the surgery.

<div>With all this being said, this last year has been extremely hard on our family. <strong>I have been the only one working to support our family of 4 since September.</strong> We have exhausted all of our financial resources at this time, and we still have several months of uncertainty left until Jesse is strong and healthy enough to return to work. <strong>We are asking anybody who is able to contribute to help support our family on this journey.</strong> We are so thankful for anything that can help us in this difficult time. <div>David Tinker’s passing was sudden and has been devastating to his family, friends, students, colleagues, and community. He had a larger than life energy and a genuine compassion and enthusiasm for life, his family, his community, wildlife and nature. This is a profound loss that words can’t fully capture. Along with the heartbreak and shock she is experiencing right now, my sister, Holly, is now facing the reality of moving forward without him or the safety net of life insurance. It was something they spoke about the need for only a few weeks ago. This fund is meant to ease some of the current weight she is under: to help cover funeral expenses, household needs, and allow her to grieve without the immediate pressure of figuring out how exactly she will move forward financially.

<div>The amount of work that goes into maintaining their life and homestead they built together is never ending, from the sheep, geese, chickens, dogs, and of course whatever rescued birds they are currently rehabilitating. But they have always tackled it as a family. There will be a huge adjustment period as she and our family try to fill the enormous void of his presence just when it comes to the day to day tasks and especially the immediate financial impact.

<div>If anyone can rise to the occasion and do hard things, it is Holly and their children. Holly has always been one to take on challenges and hard work has never swayed her. They have raised two of the most centered, kind and wonderful humans in Jeremiah and Josie. But the adjustment to Dave not being here and what that means for their future will take time to figure out.

<div>Dave joyfully gave so much of himself to this community and the outpouring of love and support his family has already received is extremely heartening and appreciated. <div>On Monday, August 2nd, <strong>Tim &amp; Timothy Luedtke were in an accident.</strong> After being airlifted with first responders working fast, both of them are still in the hospital as they sustained extensive injuries.

<li>Tim is still in the ICU as his injuries were severe.

<li>Both have made progress, but are expected to be in the hospital longer.

<div>Madilyn Peterson, 15, was a beautiful, talented musician and artist. She was beloved by anyone who knew her. She was kind, loving, and the epitome of a sweet girl.

<div>Madi, a student at Pinecrest Sloan Canyon was riding her electric scooter home from school on Monday (02/26) when she was tragically struck by a vehicle. Despite the efforts of fast acting bystanders, first responders, and doctors, Madi succumbed to her injuries and passed away at UMC on Tuesday (2/27).

<div>All those who know the Petersons are absolutely heartbroken, and doing what we can to support the family. There has been an overwhelming number of people, including many who do not know the family, looking for a way to help assist the family at this time.

<div>Initially, the Petersons did not want a fundraiser started. They are not the type of people who would ever ask for this for themselves. They agreed to let me start this after seeing how many people wanted to help, and with the condition that its very clear that they will only use donations for things related to Madi (such as medical and funeral expenses).
