<div>Hi, my son and some of his friends were in the same class over the last few years and earlier as Bobby Spencer who sadly passed away at the age of 14 from cancer.
</div>
<div>Bobby was a much-loved friend to a number of the pupils at Wade Deacon High School and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
</div>
<div>A few of the boys want to do something in Bobbys memory and have decided to run on the 2nd of September from Wade Deacon High School to Anfield, Liverpool Football Club, of which Bobby was a huge fan. The run is around 12 miles which will be a huge challenge to the boys, most aged 14 but they are determined to do it.
</div>
<div>The funds raised will all go to The Brain Tumour Charity who are supporting research into Brain Tumours and offering help and support to those going through treatment and the families around them, as requested by Bobbys family. <div>Bobby put up a huge fight! In his legacy please help us to raise as much money as we can to help fund this much-needed research.

Fundraising in Memory of Bobby

<div>Hi my name is Lisa Westerman and Ben Clay was my friend of 15+ years, a fellow housing consultant and an all round good guy. Ben dedicated his whole career to housing, particularly the affordable housing sector. He was everybody’s friend, did so much for so many in our housing community and was passionate about his work in housing and his daughter’s charity.

<div>He was innovative, intelligent and made such a difference to affordable housing. He was smart, caring, funny, loyal and so loved!

<div>At the weekend, Ben was taken from us after a short battle with cancer having first being diagnosed in August 2021.

<div>Whilst we are all grieving right now for the loss of our one in a million friend, we are also feeling devastated for his family that he has left behind. Ben was a husband to Joy and he had two children Isaac and Tilly who were his world. 

</div>

<div>Ben was passionate about his work in relation to Tilly’s charity #SCN8A UK and Ireland. <span>The aims of the charity are to support and connect families, so they are not alone, to provide access to information and connections to local and international expertise and to make it easier for researchers to connect to the community. </span>

<div>Hi, I'm Kiera Seed and I’m 13 years old.

<div>I’m really excited (and a bit nervous!) to share that in 2026, I’ll be going on the adventure of a lifetime to Kenya with my school, Wade Deacon High School.
</div>

</div>
<div>I first accepted this challenge when I was in Year 8, aged 12, and I’ll be 15 years old by the time I go. It’s a 4-week expedition, and I’ll be spending time in three different areas of Kenya, getting involved in amazing things like:

<div>‍ Community Development Work
</div>
<div>I’ll be reading with local school children and joining in with community activities – helping to build stronger communities and learning loads along the way.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div> Environmental Projects
</div>
<div>This will include planting seeds, cleaning beaches, and even helping to build classrooms and homes to support local people. I’ll also help with small construction jobs like putting in clean water supplies for whole villages!
</div>

</div>
<div> Wildlife Conservation
</div>
<div>This is something I’m really excited about – I’ll be working with local people to help reduce conflict between animals and humans, and even deworming goats to improve people’s health and lives!
</div>

<div> AND… I’m Going on Safari!
</div>
<div>I’ll get the chance to see the Big 5 (lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards and buffalo) and take part in sea turtle conservation in the Indian Ocean – how amazing is that?!
</div>

<div>This trip means the world to me. I’ve never done anything like this before, and I really want to help others, see the world, and learn new things. But I need to raise money to make it happen.
</div>

<div>It’s not just the trip – I’ll also need around 8 injections for all sorts of things (that part scares me the most, to be honest!).
</div>

<div> A Personal Reason Why This Means Even More...

<div>When I told my Grandad about this trip, he gave me £100 straight away and said he was really proud of me – even if he thought I was a bit mad! Sadly, he passed away in August 2024, and I miss him so much. I’m even more determined now to go and make him proud.
