I’m Khadijah, and I’m starting this fundraiser for myself after going through an unexpected financial setback. My bank account was hacked through Amazon, and it has created a very stressful situation at the worst possible time. In just 4 days, I am scheduled to travel to perform Umrah, a deeply meaningful religious pilgrimage that I have been preparing for. What should have been a time of spiritual focus and gratitude has suddenly become filled with worry about how I will manage the costs of this trip after my account was compromised. 
 
 
 I am humbly asking for support to help me cover my travel expenses for Umrah and to give me a small emergency cushion in case any unexpected costs come up along the way. Any donation, no matter the size, would truly help relieve some of this burden and allow me to move forward with peace of mind. If you are not able to give, sharing this fundraiser or keeping me in your prayers would also mean so much to me. Help Khadijah Get to Umrah

There is a large family that is in need of our assistance this blessed month. The husband and father recently became suddenly stricken with a condition that has left him unable to work. Before going through this test with his health, the brother was very hardworking and cared for his family well. After several large, emergent expenses, the savings that they've been relying on have all but run out and they do not have enough to make it through the month.  This family has always been very active in their community and are among the first to give whenever anyone is in need. Though they’ve not asked for the smallest amount of assistance, they are deserving of our care and aid particularly in this month. He is to begin new medications in the coming weeks and it is hoped, in shaa Allaah, that this will allow him to begin to return to some normality. The original goal of $6000 takes care of their most pressing expenses for the next few months while giving our brother time to recuperate and allow the family an opportunity to move through this period without the added stress of financial hardship. If we exceed the goal, each $1500 is an additional month of expenses taken care of. 100% of the funds will be given deposited to the families bank account. We ask Allaah to restore our brothers health completely and reward him and his family for their patience.

Helping A Large Family This Ramadan

CT Anchor, a student run organization based in Connecticut, coordinated a trip to the Ritsona and Oinofyta refugee camps in May of 2016. We have multiple intiatives that will not come to fruition without your support. Here is a few of them: 1. Ramadan campaign: We want to provide 1250-1500 individuals in 500 families with weekly food baskets throughout the month of Ramadan. We will be purchasing chickpeas, rice, beans, salt, tomatoes, dates, oil, etc and delivering them to refugees who live in squads and receive no government assistance. These individuals rely purely on donations to eat!  For only $10.12, you can sponsor the meals of a refugee for an entire month! You can also choose to sponsor multiple refugees (i.e. 5 for $50.60). We will be allocating funds to other campaigns, if the Ramadan Campaign no longer needs donations.  2. Upcycle&amp;Uplift campaign We are selling hand-stitched canvas bags made by the residents of Oinofyta Refugee camp! We are excited to lauch this new initiative that will not only allow us to upcycle the canvas that was used for the tents they were housed in, but also returns autonomy to the refugees.  (Refer to the Facebook post for pictures and prices of the bags!) 3. Malakasas Warehouse Restoration and Reorganization We are repainting and refinishing the warehouse of donations in Malakasas. We will be taking donated clothing out of scattered, disorganized boxes and arranging them in a boutique style. It is dehumanizing and humilitating for residents of Malakasas to shuffle through boxes to find clothing, thus rearranging the clothing will help reduce their sense of dependency .  4. Food Distribution The Greek army will no longer provide food to the residents of the three camps that we visited. We will be distributing vegtables and meat to the refugees, while we are on the ground and after we leave.  ----------------------------------------------------------------------- When we leave Greece, we will continue assisting resettled families in the Connecticut area. Families are arriving to Connecticut at an almost weekly basis. A strong support system for retrieving and accomodating families is currently in place, but is in constant need of financial support.  Anchor serves as a "one stop shop." We provide voluntary agencies with appropriate housing, jobs, education, healthcare, and whatever else is needed for families to thrive here in Connecticut.  Your donation will be used to assist families with: 1. Support Syrian and Afghan Refugees

Hi, My name is Terri Patterson. I am a 52 year old female. I was diagnoised with end stage renal faliure in sept 2017. I began dialysis in Oct. I applied for Social security in June 2017. I was denied in Sept. 2017. I recived notification to come to the social security office in Dec 2017.Upon Arrival was asked why i was there. I informed them i recived notification to come to the office and bring my checking account information. I was then told i was there to complete a medicare application, moreover they informed my I won the appeal in Oct 2017 however I would not recieve funds until April as evidenced by there being a 5 month wait period. I explained I had bills and responsibilities. The y offered an apology and stated that is the process. When I inquired about back money, they stated i will not recieve any back funds because I was not disable in June. I have no understanding because I have and had the same illness and proven documentation.
