Hi my name is Kellie and I’m an emerging Canadian filmmaker. For nearly a decade, I’ve been developing a powerful story that has lived with me, haunted me, and pushed me through hundreds of rewrites. It’s called Be Good Johnny... a chaotic, hilarious revenge story inspired by real experiences and an unsuspecting hero who spirals into madness, comedy, and redemption. Over the years, established filmmakers have called this script a certain “Indie Darling.” They’ve told me it’s bold, raw, darkly funny, and emotionally honest, the kind of story that sticks with you and gets noticed. But none of that matters unless I raise the funds to make the short film first. The short is the proof‑of‑concept I need to take to festivals, Telefilm, and industry partners so the feature film can finally become a reality. What’s the story? Johnny, a failed paraplegic turned debt collector, weaponizes his job to hunt down the childhood bullies who broke him. Fueled by booze, rage, and a burner phone, he spirals into a revenge mission that accidentally turns him into a hero. It’s messy. It’s human. It’s darkly funny. And it’s the most personal thing I’ve ever written. It's based on a real person, who is quite the character. Where your support goes: • Cast & crew • Equipment • Locations • Editing & sound • Festival submissions Independent filmmaking is expensive, and while I’m applying for grants, community support is what will actually get this film made. If you donate, I’ll proudly include your name in the film’s credits (if you want it there). This project has been nearly ten years in the making. With your help, it can finally come to life. Thank you for supporting independent film and helping launch Be Good Johnny. I really appreciate you!
